Weekend Party

These aren't the best photos but they were quickly snapped using my Iphone before I headed out to a good friend's baby shower a couple weekends ago.  She and I have been friends since we were 6 years old and now we both have the exact due date!  I was so excited to celebrate her baby shower.  I usually do not dress up on the weekends so it was nice to get out of my leisure pants and attempt to look presentable.

Life Lately: Little Sister's Nashville Wedding

Long time no see!  It's been quite a few weeks and I'll try to catch up as I start blogging regularly again.  Throughout the past couple weeks, I've been on and off bed rest due to ongoing Braxton Hicks contractions.  I'm still working full-time, so I've been balancing taking care of my body, working, Lucas, life, etc. so unfortunately, blogging went to the bottom of the totem pole.  We also just got back from Nashville for my sister's wedding which are the photos I'm sharing below.

My sister got married at the Nashville Symphony which was an absolutely beautiful venue!  I was maid of honor and little Lucas was a ring bearer.  His bow tie, suspenders, and Chucks outfit was too too cute!  Shockingly, not only did Lucas walk down the aisle but he was the perfect angel throughout the ceremony and sat quietly on my sister, Ana's lap.  I didn't want to jinx it so I tried not to make eye contact with him!

We had such a great time spending time with family and celebrating Melisa and Jeremy.  It was also special to spend Mother's Day in Nashville with all of my family.

Lucas sitting quietly as the girls got their hair and makeup done.  Can you tell that I emphasize when he's quiet?  He's definitely a firecracker!

I mean...I mean...

Lucas was in heaven with his Aunties!

FYI Finding a maid of honor dress to wear at 7 months pregnant was no easy task but I went with this similar J.Crew dress and had it altered like no other.

The happy married couple.

This was such a sweet gift from my sister!  She and I love this Burberry perfume and she had it engraved which makes it extra special :-)

Take On An Old Non-Maternity Outfit

I'm over the half way point on what seems like the fastest pregnancy ever and still finding ways to change up my style while embracing my large preggo belly.  I bought this swing dress from Old Navy last summer and it's not maternity.  It's meant to be, well, swingy, so it's perfect and comfortable to wear while pregnant in the Florida heat.  I wore a very similar outfit to this here and I really liked the color combo so I'm happy to have translated it into a maternity outfit.

Weekend Photo Diary

It was a busy busy weekend for us and it felt good to finally be up and about.  For the past couple of weekends, I had been taking it easy since getting lots of Braxton Hicks contractions.  I had an appointment last week with my doctor and learned more about what to do when the contractions come on so I've been slowly working up to do more activities but then slowing it back down a bit.  Since the weather was amazing, we decided to go to Epcot at Disney World early since it's leisure park and one of my favorites.  Thanks to our fast passes, we went on Lucas' favorite rides, Nemo and Mexico, took pictures with characters, ate our favorite food in France and Norway, all before 1 p.m.  Instead of heading straight home, we decided to venture out to IKEA.  It was such a successful shopping trip too!  Since we're turning Lucas room into a big boy room this week, we picked up a dresser for him, toddler eating table, and a dresser/changing table for the new nursery.  I'm so excited for the dresser/changing table!

Sunday was equally busy as we bought paint for the furniture and picked up lots of goodies for the nursery at HomeGoods.  We also spent a good deal organizing the nursery since it has been a storage facility of all our junk from the move.  I also started organizing baby girl's clothes and closet which was too much fun for me.  Below are some snapshots of our busy weekend:

Sweater: Nordstrom (THE COMFIEST SWEATER EVER!)  /  Shorts: Old Navy  /  Necklace: Kendra Scott  /  Shoes: Tory Burch

Lucas: Shirt  /  Shorts  /  Shoes

How sweet is this romper pictured below?!  It's from Bailey's Blossoms and it is just too sweet!  The bow is one of a hundred my sweet Aunt made for baby girl :-)

The kids are all set to visit my little sister and family in NYC someday!  The Yankees outfits are ones my dad bought for baby girl which makes me laugh because when my sisters and I were little, my dad bought us all Yankees outfits as well and we joked that we looked like little boys.  My dad is such a huge sports fan and he ended up with 4 extremely girly girls.  He and Lucas are extremely close and because of my dad, Lucas has more Yankees tees than I think Derek Jeter had!  The Piccolini NYC shirt was just too cute to pass up for Lucas.  These cute clothes are now making me miss the city!  I'm hoping to go for a weekend after the baby is born :-)  The teal shirt is from OshKosh.

Transitioning Non-Maternity Clothes

It helps that this top that I bought last year at Nordstrom was already pretty big to begin with because it has been great in adding to what I can wear during this pregnancy.  I haven't bought many maternity items this time around but believe you me, my belly is huge this time around.  I'm finding that tunics have been great to wear and purchase recently because they are pieces that I can also wear post-pregnancy.  Maternity bottoms had to be purchased because, at least for me, there was no way around that.  I don't mind those purchases though since I work 5 loooong days a week and constantly reuse (of course wash!) them throughout the week.  Dresses are also a great way to wear during pregnancy that don't necessarily have to be maternity.  I am by no means against maternity clothes but it's also important for me to be cost efficient and find pieces that I can also wear after birth.  I do have to say though that maternity fashion has come a long way and there's so many cute options now!

PS: Here's this exact outfit worn last year and not pregnant: Non- Maternity Version

The One With the Tent

It's simply that time, folks.  The time where everything I wear will unapologetically make me look like a tent.  I'm actually happy to be in real clothes though after spending a little under a week in bed rest.  My Braxton Hicks contractions kicked it up a notch and bed rest was the medicine.  I am an on the go person, wakes up at 5 and is on the go until I lay my head down on my pillow, so bed rest wasn't as luxurious as it may sound.  Baby Girl is doing great though which is what's important.  So I'll take the tent look over last week and hope it's a trend that catches on!  Or maybe not...
