Rewearing Clothes Again

I wear this cardigan blazer thingy probably more than I should.  I LURVE it.  In fact, I re-wear a ton of stuff which is probably why I can't take outfit photos everyday because you would be life, ummm didn't you wear that last week?  After my son was born, a switch went off in me that said, only buy things that you love.  The reason why this switch happened after my son was born was because I felt very guilty spending any money on myself.  I'm not sure why, maybe because I felt every dollar I had should be spent on him and his savings, but I felt guilty every spending money on myself.  I work full time so the necessity to wear office clothes every day was there so I decided to only buy things that I love.  And I think I've kept this up.  My closet isn't us busting at the seams as it used to be but I love everything more than when I was buying all of the things.  Food for thought :-)

Weekend Photo Diary

The weekend started out on a somber note as we watched on tv the horrifying events happening in Paris.  Paris holds a special place in my heart.  My entire adolescence, I dreamed and prepared for an imaginary trip to Paris so much so that I opted to take French classes 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.  A dream was finally fulfilled when my husband and I honeymooned in Paris for what was the most magical week and a half of my whole life.  It was devastating to see the heinous acts committed to such a beautiful place and people.  I'm sure others can also relate that it was a somber weekend.

To the most superficial transition of topics, I wore the above outfits Saturday AND Sunday.  I did do laundry on Saturday so my clothes weren't dirty, but for reals, two days in a row.  I love these leggings from Nordstrom and my long sweater is a MUST!  It's hard to tell in the photos, but the sweater is a deep burgundy and so incredibly soft.  On Saturday, I ventured out during Lucas' nap to do...shhhh...more christmas decoration shopping...shhhhh.  My husband made me promise to not decorate until after Thanksgiving but I couldn't help myself.  I started with the snowflake pillow I mentioned last week and for a whole week, the hubs didn't notice.  So on Saturday, I couldn't help myself and bought the multicolor deer pillow from Target, ornaments from Michaels, and the chair covers from the dollar store.  I think I would have been in the clear if it wasn't for the chair covers.  Yeah, the chair covers gave me away so now I really had to promise I wouldn't decorate...until next weekend ;-/

In case you are wondering what it's like to be the mom of a rambunctious two year old boy, here's a glimpse into what it's like 100% of the time.  #carseverywhere #legoseverywhere #knockingintowallsallthetime

Mirror Mirror: The Baby Monogram Necklace

Don't judge me but I took these photos at the end of a loooooong day which is why my hair looks like a nest and my shirt looks like it was bunched up under a mountain of laundry (which, let's be real, it probably was).  There's also a super scary selfie pic at the end of this post which most would probably not post on the internet but not me!  Nope.  I scare you with a post-work stress selfie because I am that smitten with my baby monogram!  I mean it's a baby monogram necklace, it just doesn't get much cuter.  I've been living in the South long enough to be enamored with monogram all.of.the.things.  And this necklace is no exception.

Weekend Photo Diary

It was Christmas at the Magic Kingdom this weekend!  We were hoping the parks still had some of their halloween decor up but Disney wasted no time and decked the parks out for the holidays.  And I must say, it was magical.  Disney + holiday decor + holiday music + magic = I.Can't.Even.  The park wasn't too crowded and since I take out our fast passes a couple days before we go, our wait time for rides couldn't have been more than 5 minutes.  Lucas, as always, had a great time and we really enjoy taking him to the parks since we get to experience the magic of Disney through him.  Since we had a busy Saturday, much of Sunday was spent lazying around, minus the time when Lucas busted open his lip.  Any other boy moms out there that can relate????  Oh, and I went to Target for dog food and instead bought Christmas decor and holiday clothes for Lucas...Target does it again.

I just couldn't resist buying Lucas these holiday PJs and that Grinch sweater at Target, I mean c'mon!  The little snowflake pillow below is from Target's Dollar Spot and I just learned that Target is doing away with the Dollar Spot and instead making that area "Bullseye's Playground."

The Relaxed Sweater

I think by now I've drilled in how I'm into more relaxed office looks and no, it's not the most appropriate for my line of work.  I should be wearing suits every day but I don't.  I just don't but I think that's perfectly fine.  The days that I know I'll be seeing lots of people, have to be in court, depositions, etc, of course I will dress the lawyer lady part but the days that I know I'll be drowning in paperwork drafting my little heart out, you better bet your bottom dollar I'm going to be as comfortable as possible.  And this sweater meets all the requirements.

Weekend Photo Diary: Halloween 2015

It was another busy weekend for us but we had so much fun trick or treating with Lucas!  He had a great time going up to houses on his own that he grabbed his pumpkin the next day and promptly took us to the front door in order for him to get more candy! I had a major mom fail moment and forgot to buy a plastic pumpkin for Lucas to collect his candy in so Saturday morning, I went to Target, Dollar Store, CVS, and Homegoods but all stores were sold out.   I ended up finding the last pumpkin at Walgreens and it had Mickey ears so it was meant to be.  But I'm saving that bad boy for next year to prevent another fail.  While at Homegoods, I picked up a pretty gold bamboo frame and the 100 pens Kipling case.  I love the pattern on the Kipling case and it's perfect to keep my daily planner/office supplies and then throw in my bag for work.  #plannernerd

Onecklace graciously sent me two more necklaces and I could not be more in love!  The monogram is the cutest little baby sized monogram necklace that I am absolutely smitten with and the circles on the other necklace are engraved with an "L" for Lucas and his birthdate.  LOVE!  I've been wearing these every day since I got them!

How cute was my little Gator football player for Halloween?!  Another mom fail moment happened when I couldn't find white leggings anywhere, didn't have time to order a pair, so I had to look into his too small clothes bin in order to find short leggingsish football pants.  He still looked adorable in his football pads.
