The Perfect Summery Dress

This Anthropologie dress is one my husband sweetly bought me for Mother's Day after I kept adding it then removing it then adding it to my shopping cart over and over again.  I get like this lately because I only want to buy things I love.  Gifts are a different story though, duh.  And I really love the dress now.  I think it's the perfect summery dress and, as you can tell in the picture above, is very flowy.  I don't love that I'm hunching over in these pictures but I love a good empire waist dress.  Anthropologie for the win!

Beach Please

So we discovered that Lucas is obsessed OBSESSED with the beach!  Anytime we were outside, getting ready to go to dinner, Lucas was always squirming away from us to run to the beach.  He absolutely loved shifting sand back and forth, laying on the sand, and sitting at the edge of the shore and letting the waves crash on his legs.  As soon as he woke up in the morning, he would run to the window and yell AGUA!  He then proceeded to grab my hand, place it on the door knob, and say BEEEEAAACCCHHH PLEASE!  He is a beach baby for sure.

On an unrelated note, I am obsessed with my new necklace that you can see Lucas really wanted to break.  But he didn't so it is also toddler proof.  Win win!  Also, on the way to the beach, we stopped by Nordstrom and my hubby bought these sunnies for me.  I was a little unsure because I don't have anything like them and have never purchased sunglasses in this type of frame or color but I absolutely flipping love them!  I find myself wanting to wear them every day and, plus, they remind me of the best beach trip ever so I love them even more.  I actually really like the blue lenses and, now, this brown eyed girl can finally fit in with my blue eyed boys!

Longboat Key

I've missed you, Dainty & Decadent!  I was away last week but with great reason...I was on my first weeklong vacation since my honeymoon five years ago!  It was also Lucas' first family vacation where he was lucky enough not only to be staying at a beach front condo in Longboat Key but also staying with his Aunties Adri and Melisa, his abuelo and abuela, mama and dada, and my sister's boyfriend Jeremy (also referred to by Lucas as JJ!) AND, most importantly, he turned TWO on July 18!  TWO!  SERIOUSLY!  TWO!    

My family has been vacationing in Longboat Key, Florida since I was nine years old but I haven't been able to go since 2008 and I have missed it so!  We had a phenomenal time and I literally cried leaving.  Tears...real hot tears.  Lucas is definitely a beach baby.  We packed tons of sand toys and he had so much fun gathering sand and water all by himself that I was able to lounge on the beach chairs long enough to get a slight tan.  The water was warm, the weather was perfect, the food was awesome, and the company was even greater.  We had such a great time and it has me excited for future vacations!  I feel recharged and ready to tackle things.  I will definitely miss my time at the beach and will miss my little sissies and Jeremy very much so but it just means we have to start planning the next vacay soon :-)

Completely Pantsless

Well, not really but I'm so pale that the pants clearly make it look like I decided it was appropriate to go pantsless at the office.  I am in dire need of some sun and pronto!

OMG OMG OMG!  I'm taking a vacation for the first time since my honeymoon in Paris FIVE years ago!  Sure, we've had a couple day trips or weekend trips but not anything longer than three days.  It's our first family vacay, except my baby doxie, Mia, is going to guard our house while we're away...well, she'll help my brother-in-law of course, house sit.  Anywho, I'm so excited and started getting some beachwear ready and packed away.  I'm still looking for at least one more coverup and maybe another suit but for the most part, I'm packed and ready to go!  

Of course, what kind of toddler mom would I be without lugging around a huge tote bag in addition to my cute totes pictured above.  Below is a picture of the bag holding all of Lucas' beach toys and floaties.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions on bringing toddlers to the beach!

That Time I Didn't Have My Sh*t Together

So I went to work in this get up...a sweater AND necklace put on backwards.  Did anyone tell me?  Nope.  I realized it when I was going through these photos that night.  It was a long 9+ workday too.  Thanks everyone.

Most days I feel like I'm just trying to function.  Just trying to keep all the balls I'm juggling in the air.  From far away, it may seem like someone has their sh*t together, and I begin to doubt if I'm just doing it all wrong.  But up close, it's a backwards sweater and necklace, so maybe we aren't all perfect and it's going to be ok.  How's that for deep on this lovely Monday ;-)
