What I Wish I Wore Poolside

Do you ever see pictures on instagram or actual people in person that look so put together and cutesy at the pool?  Yeah, that's not me but I wish it was!  I'd love to try to make more of an effort especially since we're going to the beach soon.  I'll be picking up some cuter options so I don't look like an awkward sloppy mess poolside!

Outfits That Didn't Make It

Here's how this conversation went:

Me: [to husband] Can you take my picture?

Him: You want it for your blog?

Me: Yes.  Why do I look like crap?  Because I'm real.  This is how I really dress. [clearly, I'm not dramatic.]

Him: I mean okay.

Since I assumed my photographer was not inspired, I took pics with my iphone instead.  Note to self, must get new mirror and keep little toddler boy hands off of it.  

The picture below shows one of my birthday gifts from my husband!  It's a Tory Burch bag that doubles as a diaper bag since it's nylon fabric.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  Although I also love my Marc by Marc Jacobs diaper bag, since my baby boy is now a toddler, I don't have much of a need to always have all of the things.  However, I still carry with me diapers, wipes, snacks, drinks, and toys so I wanted something that was nice enough to wear on its own and also carry my toddler necessities.  Tis love!

Running Late

What happens when my alarm clock (aka Lucas) decides to sleep in and doesn't give me my screaming wake up call?  I end up wearing slouchy clothes, very minimal makeup, and what somewhat resembles a ponytail.  Oh, and since I was already late, I obviously decided to take pictures to blog about it of course.  You cannot pay me enough to take these sunglasses off.  Trust that I am doing you a favor.

The Happy Birthday Girl

I could have picked another picture to post up there but nope!  I want to show you in all my glory how thrilled I was to turn 32 yesterday and have to work all day on my birthday.  #keepingitreal #allgrownup   

Despite turning into an old lady and having to go to work, I actually had a pretty great day.  I think I was eating the whole day because as soon as I got into my office, my wonderful co-worker had fully stocked my drawers with tons of candy, cannolis, and cupcakes.  For dinner, my mom cooked my favorite meal and funfetti cake which is the bestest cake in all of the land.  Then the eating didn't stop when I got home because my sweet hubby gifted me with chocolate covered fruit.  I was spoiled with lots of gifts and love from friends and family and Lucas even told his daddy to get me a new handbag.  He is such a sweet boy.  Soooo, turning 32, was not so bad of a day.

My Standards

Looking back on my outfits lately, I very much seem to have a standard go to: pants, shirt, and cardigan.  Although I prefer dresses, I, unknowingly, am in another style rut.  I appreciate others than can change it up and be comfortable.  My standard comfort zone, is just that, something comfortable.  I've said it over and over again but I will always choose comfort over style and my agenda is to try to make my comfort more stylish.  I am a firm believe that if you feel you look your best, your attitude will be better and thus more productive.  Just my two cents for the day.

Because It's Too Hot

I do not like to wear sleeveless tops to the office.  I do not like to show shoulders period.  I'm weird.  I know it.  But it's too damn hot to not let loose every now and again.  I'm so wild.  Anyone else have weird things they avoid wearing?
