Weekend Photo Diary

Lucas had his last Easter egg hunt and I got mah hairs cut.  Woot woot!  Thanks to an awesome hair stylist and reader Jennifer D for her great advice, I'm very happy with my cut.  I always have had my hair cut one length but this time, it's a little shorter in the back and layers throughout.  I'm a happy girl.

Sunday we went to a friend's house for an egg hunt with a group of toddlers that have been getting together since they were 4 months old!  I love seeing all the kids growing up and hope they can remain friends as they all grow up.  We also had fun on our backyard patio as we added a playhouse and more fun outdoor toys for this rambunctious boy.  I think I had more fun blowing bubbles than Lucas did trying to "catch" them.  Happy Monday!

Beauty Game Changers

I LOVE makeup.  I HEART makeup.  I have a TON of makeup.  I just have ZERO time to apply it in the mornings and it is rare that I wear anything but concealer and curl my lashes on weekends.  However,  I've recently been discovery some real game changers that work for me and my schedule.

I've been wearing this Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation for almost two years now.  I love love love it and the fact that it doesn't oxidize (turn orange) on my skin after a long 8+ hour day at the office.  The only thing I disliked about the foundation was that you have to pour it on your hand since there is no pump.  I hate wasting product and pouring it on your hand will do that.  HOWEVER, while picking up my MAC powder the other day that I use to set my foundation, the MAC makeup artist told me that the MAC pumps work on this bottle.  Ummm genius!  For $10 I'm sold!

I've had this brush from Sephora in my stash for awhile and I had bought it to apply bronzer.  Although, it applies bronzer well, it's a little too dense for me so I use my MAC 150 brush to apply my bronzer.  I did find that this Sephora brush applies my foundation perfectly!  It blends to perfection and it the right consistency of softness but firm enough to apply foundation.  Although the silver handle brush isn't available anymore,  this one is quite similar.

Up until two years ago, I never filled in my brows.  Now, I pretty much always apply my MAC mystery eyeshadow using my MAC 266 brush and finish with the Maybelline Brow drama.  People, I would be so so upset if Maybelline discontinues this AMAZEBALLS product!  Like I said before, I barely ever apply makeup on weekends but when I do, the brow drama is the perfect eyebrow fix.  Seriously.  I use the dark brown shade and honestly prefer this to the more expensive brands.

The Easter bunny gifted me a set of these Stila creme blush/lip trios and I am loving applying it before I powder my skin.  It helps prolong my blush wear which is always nice at the end of a long day.  That Easter bunny is so thoughtful.

I'm not much of a contouring and mainly just use bronzer but lately I've been contouring using this Nars Laguna multiple and it is amazing!  I apply by making a line underneath my cheekbones and blend using my MAC 109 brush.   The product is creamy, long wearing, and not too dark on the skin.  If you are looking into contouring, I can't recommend this method enough!

Short Hair Inspiration

I've been feeling so blah about my hair lately so I made an appointment to revamp this lifeless hair on Saturday.  Much to my younger self's dismay, I now prefer to have short hair and have been scouring Pinterest for inspiration.  I'm never sure if it is rude to show your hair stylist inspiration pics but I've been looking so I have an idea of what I want.  Here's the thing, I want a hairstyle that will make me want to do my hair in the morning (not throwing it in a ponytail) and easily since I rarely give myself more than twenty minutes to get ready in the morning mmmkay?  Here's to hoping.

Easter 2015

We had such a lovely Easter weekend full of Florida sunshine, easter egg hunts, and yummy food.  Lucas has become a pro at Easter egg hunting and even has another to go to next weekend!  At one point during the egg hunt at my parent's house, Lucas got tired of picking up his Easter eggs and made my dad pick the rest of them for him.  Lazy.  But, as you can see in the picture above, Lucas was having lots of fun!  I hope you had a great weekend!

Easter Basket Goodies

I'm so excited to take Lucas Easter egg hunting this year since he's been practicing a lot at my mom's house!  He doesn't try to open the eggs just runs to grab as many as he can to then run back to his basket.

I didn't go crazy buying stuff to put in his basket since he's still a toddler but I couldn't pass up on some of these goodies.  My favorite are the egg shaped chalk that I found at the dollar store!  He's lately loving Donald or as he calls him DUCK and loving bubbles of course.  His dad had to add a toy car in there as well which I'm sure Lucas won't mind.  Happy Easter!

Five Facts

It's April Fools Day and although I'm terrible with pranks, I thought I could share five facts you may or may not know about me.  I did almost put glitter in my husband's shampoo so that when he took a shower this morning glitter would get all over him but then I realized we would all be late for work. #Priorities

1.  It may not come to a surprise that I am a makeup junkie but I am also OBSESSED with youtube makeup gurus.  Babies have nighttime routines, I have a nighttime routine as well and it involves binging on makeup videos until I fall sleep with the earphones still in my ears.  My favorites are Pixiwoo, Petra, and Carly.

2.  I am the oldest of 4 girls.  FOUR GIRLS!  My dad was seriously outnumbered.  We all live scattered apart with me in Florida, Melisa and Ana in Nashville, and Adriana in New York City.  I miss them all dearly and thankful for facetime.  They are such great Aunties and I know Lucas misses them too.

3.  My husband and I are both high school sweethearts and began dating when I was 16.  He and I were both voted Best All Around Senior Superlative, homecoming court sweetheart, and I was the Prom Queen.  No joke, he is still bitter about not winning Prom King.

4.  When I was younger, my mom put me in talent shows every year and while other kids sang Paula Abdul, Debbie Gibson, etc, I sang Gloria Estefan songs.  For reals.

5.  My husband and I didn't only go to high school together, we also went to college together (GO GATORS!) and law school together.  I think he's stalking me.
