Weekend Photo Diary

We had another fun day at Disney this weekend!  This time we went back to Epcot with my mom and had a blast!  The weather was perfect and the crowds were amazingly low for this time of year so we could not have asked for a better day.  Disney World is a short drive for us so we have been loving our annual passes and Lucas really enjoys himself.  One of the things we asked ourselves before we bought our passes was whether it would be worth it for Lucas.  Well, he has definitely showed us that they were worth every penny!  He at first was a little unsure of the character, but this trip, he actually ran up to Donald while yelling DUCK!  We were so surprised and so glad we caught it on video!  He can also ride most of the attractions and would clap and say WOW a lot.  He melts my heart!

On Sunday, my mother in law watched Lucas for a couple hours while my husband and I went to see the movie Get Hard.  I don't even remember the last time I was at a movie theater.  We also did a couple errands that would normally take us all day since it is mostly spent running after a toddler.  One of the errands which wasn't even really an errand was heading to Homegoods to check out home decor.  I picked up a couple things for our bedroom dresser that seriously needs to be replaced.  We then headed out to the grocery store with Lucas so he could get his cookie.  After he demolished the cookie, he proceeded to have a meltdown because he wanted more.  Joy.  I think I sweat more than a marathon runner trying to tame my child from a sugar induced meltdown.  We still had a great weekend and hope everyone else did as well!

But let's be honest, my real Spring Must Haves are allergy medication, nasal spray, and eye drops.

My Instagram Life

I thought I would start sharing a few of my instagram pictures here on Dainty and Decadent since my account is private.  I unfortunately had to make my account private due to weirdo role playing accounts on instagram that steal peoples photos.  I just made my account private to screen the RP (role playing) accounts out so as long as you aren't a role player account I'd love to connect on instagram!  Here's some of my most recent posts on instagram:

We have made small progresses around the house and the number one room was Lucas' play room.  Our favorite part of the day is coming home in the evenings and playing in this room until his bed time.  I am always on the look out for toddler activities and toys and I think he has a great mix here.  The other side of the room has a basketball hoop, book shelf, a bean bag, and more bins filled with blocks, etc.  This room definitely looks like Toys R Us puked in it but I can't help but love it at the same time.

He's becoming more and more independent like wanting to drink his milk without me holding him.  Makes me shed a tear or twenty.

One of his favorite "games" of the moment is opening ALL OF THE THINGS and throwing everything on the ground.  Yeah, we need to work on this.

Mia now is Lucas' little shadow and I love it.  She has always thought that she was human but now she thinks she's a littler person like Lucas who can sit and patiently wait for him to hand her some of his food.  I love their little friendship.

We recently went back to Disney World when my little sister was in town.  I was not joking when I said I was going to get good use of our annual passes!  We had a great time and I'm happy that Lucas' Auntie got to spend time with him at the happiest place on earth!

Beach Bum

Everyone is talking about Spring but I'm thinking ahead to summer because [drumroll please] I'm going to the beach!  Now, those of you who know me are probably thinking but Maria, don't you live in Florida?  Yes, but you see, I'm lame and thus I have not gone to a Florida beach in I don't even know how long.

This summer, my family and I will be taking a beach vacation and, fingers crossed, nothing come up at work, I will be looking forward to soaking up some rays and enjoying the beach breeze.  It's been awhile since I've gone swimsuit shopping so that will be interesting.  In the meantime, these are things that have caught my eye.  Let's go to the beach beach!

Simplicity

I'm in need of some serious color these days.  I've always gravitated towards more neutral colors.  Even my house is mostly gray, black, and white but I'm trying to make more of an effort to add color in all aspects of my life.  I still have a rack of colorful pencil skirts so I may start incorporating them more into my daily wardrobe.  Admittedly, I'm in a clothing rut.  Mornings are usually go go go and I've even gone to work with wet hair (AHHHHHH) but I've turned a new leaf and really trying to get up an hour earlier so that my day doesn't always start out so crazy.  Here's to hoping that the turning of a new leaf adds order to this hectic but awesome life.

Back to Blogging

I've been a bad blogger but I'm back!  AND with a blogging schedule that I plan to stick to.

Lately, I've been thinking that I've had an identity crisis.  I'm a mom, wife, attorney, daughter, sister, etc and felt like I lost a little bit of myself and I have no one to blame but myself.  With life's craziness, I felt like I was lost so I started thinking of things that make me happy.  One of those things is blogging and reading blogs.

I've been so behind on reading some of my favorite blogs that when I started reading them again, a fire was lit.  And believe it or not, I even stopped shopping for myself.  Whenever I would even think about shopping, my shopping cart was magically filled with toddler boy clothes and then I just lost interest in looking for my clothes.  Now, with a blog schedule and changing little things here and there lifestyle-wise (jogging, eating healthier, etc) I hope to become a better me.
