Sunday Goings

So I missed an entire week of blogging...whoops.  A lot has been going on and until this weekend, I could barely keep my head above water.  I just kept telling myself to take things one day at a time.  First, my husband accepted a position with a different company and, although, I am extremely happy for him as it's a great opportunity for him and our family, I'm selfishly sad.  He and I had been working at the same firm for three years and it's been hard not seeing him at the office every day.  It has also added more work load on me and so last week was absolute madness.  We were also suppose to go to Puerto Rico last week and the NIGHT BEFORE we were to flight out, Lucas got the stomach virus...trip cancelled.  He started feeling better the next day which was most important.

After the last two crazy weeks, it felt nice to get a little more dressed up on Sunday to attend a friend's baby shower.  We also had a play date at a gymnastics center later in the afternoon so the weekend was the perfect ending to a hectic week.  I'm still trying to find the right balance in my life right now so I really appreciate those of you who continue to read this little internet space of mine and check up on me.  Here's to a new week and taking things one day at a time.

8 Months Old

Yesterday, Lucas turned 8 months old and it's another month filled with milestones.  He's crawling so fast, babbling tons, and now pulls and stands up on whatever and whomever he feels like.  We've had to lower his crib since he was pulling up on the bars making this mommy very anxious.

He and Mia are now best buds, well in his mind.  Mia has been amazing with him.  He will crawl intently towards her and she will either jump on the couch or let him pet her.  She has never snapped at him but we always have a hand near her face in case she does.  But she has been such a wonderful big {doggy} sister!

Thankfully, he is still wearing 12-18 and some, I mean very little, 6-12.  We went through a crazy growth spurt early on so I'm glad he's getting more wear of his clothes now.  Soon, he will be taking his first airplane trip and any words of encouragement are greatly appreciated!  I bought new toys that he hasn't played with to hopefully keep him entertained.  He's also really liking Puff snacks so I will have plenty in hand.

Neck Candy

I think I've been in and out of the courtroom almost every day lately so my outfits have felt very blah.  I've been gravitating towards bold necklaces too add a little something special to all the button downs and blazers that have become my uniform.  It was during my maternity leave that I found Jane.com, Groopdealz, and Zulily (for Lucas) and it is so hard for me not to want to buy something EVERY day.  Costume jewelry is not something that I like to spend a lot of money on and those websites have become my go to place for pretty necklaces.  For me, a pretty necklace brightens up my mood and makes me feel more feminine especially when wearing pant suits.  If you haven't checked out those websites, you definitely should!

(Nope, not being compensated by those websites as they most likely do not know who I am...but they sure are familiar with my debit card...)

Savoring the Moments

We had such a nice and relaxing weekend.  On Saturday, Lucas met two of my little cousins and Sunday was spent lounging plus a little getting ready for the week.  The weekends seem to fly by faster than before which leaves me longing for the next weekend.  I need to remember to savor the moments rather than looking forward for the next.  That's my deep thought for Monday!  Here's to a great work week and an even better weekend.

Party Overalls

Last weekend, Lucas was invited to his first birthday party.  I've been dying for him to fit in these overalls!  I mean, what is cuter than babies in overalls?  We had such a fun time and totally got me thinking of Lucas' first birthday.  My great goodness!  Lucas' first birthday!  How is he almost 8 months old already?  Naturally, I'm pinning things like crazy for his little party!  I don't want to rush things though because I wish daily that time could stand still.  I'm enjoying every second of this new life of ours!

Current Beauty Favorites

Trial week has kept me from seeing the light of day but I am slowly emerging from the depths of office to share my current beauty favorites!  I am a self confessed beauty junkie with enough products and brushes to keep give Sephora a run for its money.  Wish reminds me that I must do a beauty purge soon.

Over the holidays, I added quite a few new products and these are the ones I'm currently loving...

1. Smashbox Pore Primer:  Okay, this is the product that made me want to write this post.  THIS IS AMMMAAAZZIIINNNGGGG!!!  I fell in love with the Sephora Wrinkle filler after seeing this post from Kate over at The Small Things Blog.  As luck would have it, Sephora discontinued it.  Ugh.  After trying various products, a Sephora employee recommended that I try this Smashbox Pore Primer and it is the exact same thing!  I use this product as an undereye primer.  It is absolutely amazing and I can see myself repurchasing many many times.

2. Bobbi Brown Pale Yellow Powder:  I love this powder to set my concealer.  It is translucent and does a great job at making my concealer last all day.

3.  Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation:  This has replaced my beloved Diorskin Forever Foundation.  I love it because it doesn't oxidize on my skin and blends in with my skin perfectly.  I use this in the shade Cool Bone.

4.  Real Techniques Buffer Brush:  I really like this line of brushes.  I use this buffer brush to apply my foundation and love how well it blends my foundation.

5.  Nars Laguna Multiple:  I received two multiples for Christmas and really like them.  I use Laguna to contour and the shade Orgasm on my cheeks to highlight.

6.  Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer:  Hold the presses, it's an affordable concealer that actually works!  I use this over my Bobbi Brown concealers to highlight and it's amazeballs!

7.  Bobbi Brown Eye Sweep:  My sister, Melisa, gifted this to me for Christmas and I lurve it!  Even though I own way too many makeup brushes, I'm pretty lazy when it comes to eye makeup so I like that this is a relatively large eye brush and applies makeup in one sweep.
