So this is off topic from the things I usually blog about but I SWEAR it's worth it!  My sister's boyfriend, Jeremy Groves, is an amazing musician and yesterday he released his single Stay the Night.  It is absolutely one of the best songs I've heard in awhile and, although I may be biased, I promise that it's my honest opinion!  I teared up a little because it has such a beautiful melody and I love the lyrics.  It's the perfect song to hear on repeat right before Valentine's day!

Weekend Firsts

The past two or so weeks I've been hit with major working mommy guilt...I mean epic meltdowns.  The catalyst was definitely when my mom, who watches him three days a week, called me at work and said I should call the pediatrician because Lucas was having a bad skin reaction after his 6 months shots.  The doctor's office recommended that he come in immediately to rule out anything serious.  Since I was still at the office, I tried my best to make it to the hospital but by the time I got to the doctor's office, Lucas was already seen.  I talked to the nurse and she told me it was nothing serious but I was boo hoo crying as if I missed his wedding.  Ever since then, it's been increasingly getting harder to leave him in the mornings; especially since he has learned how to wave goodbye...

Since my husband and I work together at the same firm, we are able to take nice lunches together and spend time together away from the office.  Therefore, weekends have become our time to get our Lucas fix.  The past couple of weekends have been weekends of firsts for my little guy.  He got his first haircut, started crawling, and played in the playground recently.  I tried to wait until he was a year old for his first haircut but that hair was getting unruly!  As much as I love his crazy hair, it was time for a little trim.  I am absolutely loving weekends and if you can't tell by now, I'm pretty obsessed with my boy and spending every second of every day with him!

Friday Faith

I've been absent lately and will resume to regularly posting soon.  These past two weeks I've had crazy deadlines and early morning or out of town hearings so I am exhausted.  I'm still learning how to balance my life and, unfortunately, blogging is my favorite hobby and I've had to put it on the back burner.  And there was no way I was going to blog about my makeup less crazy hair self!  Trust me, you don't need to see those pictures ;-)

I am happy that it's Friday and even planning on going to a Valentine's day party this weekend with Lucas.  Have a happy weekend!

Cold Front

Holy moly, I have not been dressing accordingly with this cold weather!  Since when does Florida think it's okay to be anywhere below 70 degrees let alone below 30?  I am definitely not cut out for cold weather.  Don't let the thin cardigan fool you, it was cold!  I can't really say I have cold weather style since I live in the south and I also can't say that I can properly mix in volumizing powder in my hair (see picture below).  Whoops!  And yes, I must have gone the whole day with white powder sitting on top of my head.  Ugh.

Six Months Old

This past Saturday, my baby celebrated his half birthday!  I say this every time but, seriously, how is he already 6 months old?  He's now sitting up on his own, cutting more teeth, and reaching out for people to carry him.  I realize I might get cyber-slapped for saying this but my baby rocks at sleeping!  Since two months old, he sleeps from 8:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. the next morning.  I know, we're spoiled.  We have a bed time routine and he knows that as soon as finished his bath, a bottle is soon to come.  Hence why he gets fussy and fidgety while we're trying to dress him since he knows it's dinner time.

We started rice cereal yesterday and he was indifferent at first but by the afternoon feeding, he was all about it.  On Saturday, we'll start feeding him carrots.  I've decided to make my own baby food and my husband sweetly gifted me a Baby Brezza and lots of baby storage containers.  Oh and not only will he start veggies this weekend but we are also planning on getting his first haircut!  I wanted to wait a year but his hair is so long that I'm having to tuck it behind his ears!

Lucas has always been very social and smiley but I love that he now reaches out for people to carry him.  Since he's teething a bunch, he reaches for anything to bite on, my jewelry and clothes included.  Since I'm not a big fan of showing up to work with a slobbery shirt or necklace, I'm so glad to have bought this Chewbeads necklace.  Lucas LOVES chewing on it and since it's a bright color, he gravitates towards it when I wear it and starts fidgeting for me to pick him up so he can start chewing.  I'm thinking of getting it in black or gray so I can wear them more often.  I love that it's functional and still looks nice for when I'm out and about with the baby.  Ladies with teething babies, I highly recommend these!

Menswear Inspired

Most times, I'm jealous that my husband doesn't have to think much into what he wears to work.  He picks out his suit, shirt, tie and he's dunzo.  Meanwhile, I have to try things on, make sure it fits, wonder the same outfit that same week, etc.  As women, we do get to have more fun with our office wear and I'll take wearing a fancy necklace over a neck tie.  I do enjoy more menswear inspired outfits and have started saving/pinning more of these looks.
