Thankful

It should come to no surprise what I am most thankful of this year...my sweet baby boy, Lucas.  I am so thankful for his existence, health, and love.  I am thankful for my family and especially for my husband.  My entire family has been so supportive and loving.  I am incredibly thankful to have such an amazing husband and an even more incredible father.  He is truly a rockstar and together, we have a pretty amazing life.  I am also thankful for those of you that read my blog.  Your comments and emails bring a smile to my face and warm my heart.  Happy Thanksgiving!

The No Ugly Sweater Party

It's finally cold enough to wear sweaters and I've hit sweater fever.  It's also nice that sweater season has come during a time that I need to hide a lot some of my baby weight!  WIN!

Navy, Black, and Polka Dots

Isn't it hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week?  This year is just flying by!  The most amazing year of my life is almost at its end.  Christmas is my favorite holiday so I've started decorating already!  I posted some of my holiday decorating photos on my instagram account a week or two ago.  

Coincidentally, my little sister produced her very first Saturday Night Live segment about the very subject of decorating/celebrating the holidays before Thanksgiving!  It was such a hilarious piece!  We are so very proud of my baby sis for doing an amazing job.  Here's the link to the video:  Saturday Night Live - Mr. Senior.  Let me know what you think after you watch it!

Four Months Old

My baby is 4 months old today!  He has been so much fun this month.  Lucas has been so interactive.  He loves smiling and laughing with people which, of course, melts my heart!  He's very into toys, chewing on his fingers, and rolling around.  He discovered how to spit and blow raspberries and he does this all.the.time.  We read to him at night and although he does not understand, he's very interested in all the colors on the pages.  

Since he was little, one song would soothe him to sleep (Lennon and Maisy "Hey Ho").  Don't ask me how or why this song puts him in a trance, it just does.  My sister played this a bunch when he was little and, to this day, he still loves it.  He doesn't cry a lot but when he's cranky, we randomly put on Disney's Mickey's Clubhouse and he was mesmerized.  So...yes, at 4 months old, we let him watch A LITTLE television. 

We love how interactive he is with us and smiles when he sees us when we pick him up in the afternoons.  I'm definitely still having a hard time being away from him during the day while I'm at work.  I'm hoping it gets a little easier.  We love this little man so much!

Cooler Days

It's cold outside!  Like really cold outside and I couldn't be more happy!  I started a new running routine and set a goal to run the next 5k in my area.  I've been loving my outdoor runs in the cooler weather and fall foliage.  I think if I set a goal, I'm more likely to keep up with the routine.  I'm still not fitting in most of my pre-pregnancy clothes and, honestly, it depresses me so I like that I am now motivated to do something about it.  Speaking of working out, Dunkin Donuts stopped making pumpkin spice donuts...blasphemy.
