My Pumpkin at the Pumpkin Patch

We took my little chubby pumpkin to his first ever pumpkin patch on Saturday.  My mom joined us and we had such a great time!  Lucas was such a trooper and really loved being there.  He took a nap in the car and had just eaten so he was in a good mood.  As soon as we set him down next to the pumpkins, it was hard getting him to look straight because all he wanted to do was roll and grab/swipe at the pumpkins.  This past week he mastered rolling over and grabbing things and now we can't get him to stop doing either.  This is a very active baby!  We love that he's so active during the day because at night he'll go right to sleep and won't wake up until 10 hours later.  10 hours!  I'm crossing my fingers that he stays being a great sleeper.

I couldn't resist putting him in this little hat we bought him at Janie and Jack when I was still pregnant.  Funny story, I dressed Lucas up in the morning and as we were getting to leave, my husband steps out of the room wearing almost an identical outfit as Lucas.  Everyone says Lucas looks like him so I, of course, had to snap lots of pictures of my H with his little mini me.

Lucas loved all the colors and textures at the pumpkin patch.  I highly encourage you all to take a trip over to your nearest pumpkin patch this weekend, especially if you have kids!  I was nervous of bugs biting him so I didn't let him sit too long on the ground which made him upset.  He was thinking, mom let me get dirty!  Nope.   Not yet, my little pumpkin.

Olive You

I bought this dress when I was pregnant and wore the heck out of it.  Now that my body is in that weird transition period between being nine months preggo to not having a clue of what's going on, I'm glad to have easy to wear dresses.  I was naive to think that after having Lucas, I could immediately start wearing my colorful skirts again.  Wrong.  

Since I had to start working after 8 weeks, my priority has not been working out.  As soon as I leave the office, my focus is on getting home and spending time with Lucas.  Maybe one I settle on a good routine, I'll start working out but it's just not on my radar.  I have cut out a lot of junk food that I indulged in while I was pregnant but now that I can't blame Lucas, operation eating healthy has begun.  Unfortunately, I'm cutting out junk during the holidays.  I just can't resist my mellowcreme pumpkins!

Wednesday Adams

Black continues to be my go to color and with my fair pale skin, I have to be careful so I don't go around looking like a zombie.  

This past weekend, I took out all my fall decorations and lit yummy candles (this one's my favorite!).  Something about fall decorations and cinnamon apple scented candles always puts me in a good mood.  This weekend, we plan on taking Lucas to a pumpkin patch and I couldn't be more excited.  Although I love Christmas season, October is probably my favorite month.  I look forward to the annual Oktoberfest festivities, fall festival, and Halloween.  October might be my husband's least favorite month because I self-imposed an annual tradition of watching Hocus Pocus on Halloween while eating worms in dirt (chocolate pudding with oreo crumbs on top and gummy worms swirled in).  That just happens to be my favorite tradition :-)

I really can't believe that we are in October?!  Seriously, where does the time go?

Morning Spit Ups

How would you like some spit up on your freshly clean sweater right before you head out the door?  That's exactly what happened right after we took these photos.  I wiped it up and went on my merry way.  I know, it's gross.  It really is amazing how little I find things to be gross.  I am regularly referred to as prissy at work but after having a baby, spit up, poopy diapers, cleaning my baby's nose, getting peed on by Lucas, I am immune to what others would find gross.  HOWEVER, last week, I was told that a mouse was in our building and I FREAKED out.  One mouse in a large building is hardly anything to freak out about but I. JUST. CAN'T.  I literally disinfected my entire office, you know, I don't overact or anything.  Give me spit ups and poopy diapers any day but mice...nope.

Faithful Obsession

I'm still obsessed with polka dots and I can't deny it.  I used to struggle with the thought of wearing polka dots to the office and how to make them look professional.  As a young attorney, it's important to me to always remain professional and how I dress makes a difference whether that's fair or not.  My love for polka dots is undying and some may think it's too busy to double up with the pattern but I like it.

Flower Power

Lucas came to visit me at work last week!  Our assistant buzzed my phone and said that there was a potential client in the lobby needing me to help them with a family law issue.  We do not take appointments this way so I thought it was odd but because I was on the speaker phone, I couldn't say no.  When I got to the lobby, she said there's your client and it was Lucas in his stroller!  We ate lunch together and hung out a little bit so my co-workers could meet him.  He even semi matched my outfit :-)  Although it was a great surprise, it was hard to see him go back home and me stay behind.  I'm hoping this working and being away from my baby thing gets easier...
