Mixing Time

I'm finally down to like 5 different outfits and two pairs of shoes that I've been cycling through because nothing else fits.  Trying to be creative in mixing the things that do fit for work actually has me excited to shop my closet once my clothes fit again.

I've been loving getting to catch up on bloglovin and getting ideas for the fall.  It's definitely motivating me and taking my mind off the aches and pains I'm currently going through in this last little part of my third trimester.  Okay, confession time, before getting pregnant, I had no idea what trimesters were...please don't let me be the only almost 30 year old that didn't know...

Neon on Weekends

This weekend I downloaded the What to Expect When Expecting app on my phone so I can check daily on what size the baby should be, etc.  My app says now that my baby is the size of a head of lettuce...yeah umm...by the looks of my belly, my kid is the size of all the lettuce at the supermarket.  It's going to be a long summer!  Happy Monday :-)

In the Navy Stripes

I received a surprising gift from my dad on mother's day...this dress!  My dad picked out this dress all by himself!  My mom said that he told her this dress "looked like me."  I can't remember another time that my dad picked out a dress for me so I am very impressed that he picked out a dress that I would pick for myself.

It had to be hard for my dad being the only male in a household of five females (7 if you include the dogs.)  However, I think I got my shopping gene from him because he is definitely a shopper.  A couple weekends ago, he spoiled Lucas with lots of Florida Gator goodies that I'm super excited to put my little boy in.  I posted those pictures on my instagram but they are so much cuter in person because they are so little!  Thanks to his Abuelo, Lucas is ready for football season!

Contrast Colors and Dots

I'm finally able to wear this dress for its intended purpose--maternity!  Last year, I wore this dress around this time without realizing that in a few months, I would fall into the maternity category.  I had such a relaxing and wonderful weekend.  My husband and family spoiled me rotten.  Ever since we found out I was pregnant, I lost any urge to want to spoil myself/buy clothes/etc so when my Saturday started off with manicures with my mom and a pedicure at a day spa courtesy of my husband, I felt like a queen.  On Sunday, we ate breakfast at my mom's house and my parents gave me a St. Luke (or in Spanish 'San Lucas') charm necklace as well as a new dress and scrapbook my mom made for me and Lucas.  All the while, Lucas kicked up a storm the whole time which made me feel even more love on this special weekend. He's not even here yet but I feel an incredible bond already...

Plum Bows

Sweater: J Crew  /  Tank: The Limited  /  Skirt: Motherhood Maternity  /  Shoes: MIA  /  Sunglasses: Dior  /  Handbag: Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM

This is quite the deceiving top as it definitely does not show the massiveness that is my belly right now.  Dressing for work at 7 1/2 months pregnant has been interesting.  If I could wear my husband's pjs/sweats to work (all that will fit me) I would.  However, I can't.  Most of my outfits are very very basic.  I hardly ever venture into my closet anymore since I'm now just rotating between like 4 different outfits.  The old me would be going crazy but right now I just want to be comfortable.  The baby is getting so big that I'm much more comfortable in dresses with cardigans.  I can't complain though.  I've been lucky to have a pretty normal pregnancy with hardly any sickness so if my biggest problem is finding something to wear, I'll take it!

Big Girl Purchases

Happy Monday!  Maybe if I tell myself 'happy Monday' I'll actually believe it.  My husband and I are about done with Lucas' nursery and bought things off our registry that were left.  Luckily, our friends and family were extremely generous at our baby shower last weekend so we didn't have to buy too many things.

We made two big purchases: the stroller and car seat.  You know you're old when you are excited about buying a stroller and car seat.  My husband was grinning from ear to ear and looking up pictures of the two items.  We chose the Britax Chaperone car seat and Bob Revolution SE Jogger.  It feels so good to check things off our list.  Next up is signing up for baby classes...I need all the help I can get!
