Holiday Kilt

First, I want to thank you ladies for the extremely kind and sweet comments!  I am forever in awe of how amazing you are and for your kindness that I wish I could thank you in person.

Second, I wore this to my mom's holiday party.  My mom posted a picture of the two of us online and, instantly, I received a text from my sister asking "ummm, why are you wearing a kilt?"  Sisters...they bring you back down to earth ;-)

New Norm

I'm so behind on reading all of your amazing blogs!  Every day I think as soon as I get home, I'm going to catch up on my reader.  It's one of my favorite things to do when I get home to unwind.  However, the new norm has been to get home from work, change in my pjs, and LITERALLY go to sleep.  Like 7 p.m ish sleep...then I wake up at 4 a.m and toss and turn until it's time to go to work again.  I'm told that the 2nd trimester gets better so I'm looking forward to feeling like myself again.  I know it sounds selfish to complain.  I really am grateful and excited for my little one to arrive in a couple months. This is just the tired nauseous Maria typing talking :-)

Playing it Safe

Nothing too interesting going on with this except that it was comfortable but that's not too interesting either.  Have I stressed enough that I prefer comfortable over anything?  In fact, as soon as I get to my office in the morning, I immediately remove my watch and bracelets.  Some may ask what the point of even wearing them in the first place may be.  Habit, I guess.  I just prefer to be the most comfortable as I can be if I have to be at work all day.  I'm being honest here people...I'll show the good and not so great :-)

Camo Houndstooth

My husband and I have been working a little later than usual so by the time we get home it's dark outside.  We aren't picture taking savvy enough to know how to take night time photos so pictures in the early morning it is for now.
I look thrilled and so much like a morning person, right? :-)
I purposefully bought this dress a size bigger so that I could grow into it the next couple of months.  I was drawn to the pattern which is a mix of camo and houndstooth I think.  I'm definitely becoming more and more a dress person because they are easy and comfortable.

Most Used

I remember thinking, "how often will I really wear a polka dot chambray top?"  Well, apparently lots and lots of times.  My Old Navy polka dot chambray top is definitely one of my most used items.  I love when I use a piece of clothing over and over again because I feel it was worth it.  At almost, $20 or so, this shirt is not only worth it but a great price as well.

Thank you so much for all your congratulations and well wishes on yesterday's post!  My husband and I are so excited about this new journey.  Yesterday, we had an ultrasound and saw the heart beating for the first time...heart melted...

Great Expectations

I'M PREGNANT!  My husband and I are so excited to be expecting our first child in 2013!  Yesterday was my husband's 30th birthday and he really wanted to tell his friends and more family yesterday even though we've been keeping this a secret since we found out.

I took a little bit of a blogging break last week because I was feeling pretty crappy and dressing up decent for work just wasn't happening.  In fact, you can pretty much tell in the past couple weeks the days where I just wasn't feeling it...Exhibit A:

What does me being pregnant mean for this blog?  Nothing...except that my belly is going to get bigger.  In fact, it already has.  This will be my first child so I have absolutely no flipping clue about motherhood nor pregnancy.  I am reading books now but I would just sound silly trying to talk about my pregnancy on this blog but shoes...shoes I know (thanks Carrie Bradshaw!)

I started this blog so I can look back on my last year of my 20s and transitioning to my 30s.  I want to look back and see what I was doing, where I was going, what I was wearing, etc.  Now, I can look back at my pregnancy and I just think that will be so neat.  I obviously will still be working so I'm looking forward to dressing to work with a big belly and see what I can come up with.  I follow some pretty fashionable mommy bloggers but I'd love some more recommendations!

Oh and I know the picture below is TMI but if you really want to know what type of person I am...I had to take 5 different tests JUST to make sure...type A, obsessive personality?  Yep, that's me :-)
