Weekend Photo Diary

Lucas was recovering from a virus and I thought for sure he would still be sick on Saturday because he didn't wake up until 9:00 am...9:00 AM!!!  Luckily, when I went into his room, he was all smiles and laughs.  We treated ourselves to a little boutique shopping where I picked up more Voluspa and Capri Blue candles (obsessed!) and had frozen yogurt.  Lucas also got a much needed haircut.  I swear, this kid gets a haircut once a month because it grows so incredibly fast.

Lucas is a water baby and playing at his water table is a good hour and a half of pure bliss for him (and me!)  Nothing like a nice and relaxing weekend to gear us up for a busy work week.

PS  These pants are like wearing pajamas and, therefore, I love them.  Buy them and thank me later.

Double Trouble Stripes

It's now been a week since I've been back at work and I'm still heartbroken.  I work from home on Mondays which makes things a little easier but I definitely had a loooong ugly cry Monday evening as I started preparing things for the morning.  Once I am at the office, it is not so bad.  Luckily, I've literally been in court every day this week which makes the day go by quicker.  My mom sends my lots of pictures and videos throughout the day and that helps as well.  Hopefully, once we get into more of a routine, I won't feel like such a monster when I drop him off at my parent's house in the morning.  Once thing is for sure, this weekend will be spent snuggling lots and lots with my little guy...and maybe checking out the Phillip Lim collection at Target ;-)

Dirty Thirty Birthday

Today is my 30th birthday...yikes! Yesterday was the last day I could say I'm in my 20's, so I guess these pictures accurately reflect that I'm in mourning (only kidding!)  My H says that I'm all grown up now because he's been asking me what I would like for my birthday and I couldn't think of one thing.  Old Maria probably had a list of possible birthday gifts (I'm a brat and I know this) but this year all I could think of was dinner and sleep!  So I guess I went from being 29 years old to 80 years old.  This year will be one of the best years of my life and I'm so looking forward to this next chapter.

To quote a Tim McGraw song, for "my next thirty years, I'm gonna have some fun, try to forget about all the crazy things I've done.  Maybe now I've conquered all my adolescent fears and I'll do better in my next thirty years...my next thirty years, will be the best years of my life.  Raise a little family and hang out with my [husband].  Spend precious moment with the ones that I hold dear.  Make up for lost time here in my next thirty years."

Blue Shades

Have you ever wondered why pregnant women are always cradling their bellies?  I always did.  I would think, ugh, why are they always holding their stomachs?! And now, I'm one of those women.  For me, personally, it's just natural.  He's moving around so my instinct is to hold my stomach and sometimes rub my belly which is even weirder.  Another selfish reason I hold my belly sometimes is to be like, look, there's a baby in there and not that I ate too many hamburgers!  Although, lately, seeing pictures of me holding my belly is almost comical because it looks like I'm trying to smuggle a watermelon under my dress.

Neon on Weekends

This weekend I downloaded the What to Expect When Expecting app on my phone so I can check daily on what size the baby should be, etc.  My app says now that my baby is the size of a head of lettuce...yeah umm...by the looks of my belly, my kid is the size of all the lettuce at the supermarket.  It's going to be a long summer!  Happy Monday :-)
