That's right. This girl went out..at night! Over the weekend, my husband and I had a date night with some friends of ours which is always a great time seen as though these nights don't come easily with our busy schedules and kiddos. I love our few date nights and getting to get dressed up somewhere else beside work! And I have to sing the praises of these super comfortable espadrilles and...they're scalloped...and they're on sale...I mean...

Seersucker Top
It's definitely not easy to take OOTD photos time and kiddo wise. When I first started blogging, my husband and I would go to a location before we went into the office but those days are long gone. I now take photos in the same spot and it is literally right before we get into our cars to go to work. But whenever I have a huge smile on my face I know it's a picture that was taken with my husband holding the camera in one hand and Olivia on the other hip. She's a scene stealer in every sense and will give me a huge smile which of course makes me have a goober grin on my face :-)
In other news, I LOVE this top! I looked online and it looks like only the green is available but this one pops up periodically it seems. I love the babydoll/poplin look and the seersucker pattern is adorable for this time of year!

Bright Blue Sweater
This weekend we celebrated Father's Day and my 34th birthday on the same day. I had written in my planner to "do big things today" but instead I took an unheard of afternoon nap and I call that a success these days! The day was spent with loved ones and cake - also great success :-) Hope you all had a great weekend!

Orange Ruffle Shirt
It's bright a$$ orange, it has ruffles, and I flipping love it. The girl who loves to wear black more than anything is finally into color color color! I had been going back and forth over black (duh) and this orange color and I am so happy to have branched out of my comfort zone!

Lady in Tweed
I just feel smart wearing a tweed jacket. I could be cleaning my carpets but if I have a tweed jacket on, I'm a smart lady cleaning my carpets. Ok bad analogy but I just love this jacket. I picked it up when I was in New York and despite practicing law for 7 years (OMG I'm old!) this is my first tweed jacket. I remember graduating from college and my grandmother telling me that whenever I start my first legal job, I should always have a jacket draped over my chair no matter what. I keep mine in the car but whenever I wear a blazer and now, a tweed jacket, I remember my grandmother's sound advice. Believe it or not, her advice has saved me in a pinch when an emergency hearing has come up or a conflict where I have to be in court in a hurry with no time to go home. Thanks Abuela!

The Southern Lawyer
I'm a woman who lives in the South and this is my very first Lilly Pulitzer dress...the shame! I honestly feel like Lilly Pulitzer is the way of life here and I can't believe it's taken me this long to buy anything Lilly Pulitzer?! As with everything I buy, I try to make sure that it's something I can also wear at the office since I'm there so much. I think the colors on this dress aren't too bright that I can get away with it at the office and adding a sweater blazer transforms it to an office look. Oh who cares! I really like this dress and it was so comfortable for a long day at the office. I'm a Lilly girl now :-)

I'm on INSTAGRAM
Dainty and Decadent is now on Instagram! I'm like an old lady that just discovered how to use the internet. I've always had an Instagram account but, to be honest, I kept it on private because I share pictures of my kids and didn't want those just out there to anyone and everyone. So this new Instagram account is solely to share fashion, beauty, blog stuff, and even some Disney parks stuff sprinkled in! I'm so excited to have this outlet and to share my interests on Instagram now too. But if you already follow me on my other account, I will still be posting insanely cute photos and videos of the two cutest kids in all of the land - wink ;-)
My Instagram name is daintyanddecadentblog. I've posted my most recent posts already :-)

Summer Vibes
Going back to work after a long weekend is always a little bit of a bummer and we are definitely feeling major summer vibes in Florida. Although I have a sweater on, I think the lace up sweater and gingham poking through gives off just enough summer vibes for the office.

Get To Work
So this outfit is totally not blog worthy or innovating but it's one of those, I need to get a million things done at the office and won't see many people outfits. One of those days where ya just need to get dressed and out the door.

Subtle Animal Print
I recently was on the hunt for the perfect leopard cardigan that didn't scream animal print and I think I found it with this one. Not only do I love the subtle pattern the material is nice and breathable which is a must in this Florida heat...hence the pony tail. There is literally nothing more annoying than hair sticking to your neck due to the heat UGH.

Classic Twist
I'm not going to lie so the bell sleeves threw me off but I just happen to love it. I'm always drawn to neutral colors so I just think that this is the perfect neutral pop that isn't simple by any means. It's classy yet interesting enough that one can't say oh it's another white shirt. I think my go to will always be neutral colors but I like giving it a little twist so that an outfit isn't too boring.

Lemonade
What a fun print to wear to the office! I'm trying to get out of my neutral rut and I think this just did it. Of course, I had to add black and white in there but I was going to work, after all. Plus, no one can get mad at a lawyer wearing a bright lemon cardigan, right???

Central Park
Shock to no one that I went back to the park for a second time. It's literally my favorite. Saturday morning, we ate breakfast at the Laduree restaurant down near Soho and walked a bit through the area before taking a taxi up near our hotel. I was on a little bit of a mission. I had just recently purchased this bag that I wore the beginning of our trip but I was on the hunt for the one I'm wearing here. I loved seeing the monogram a lot of other people have but I desired the all black bag as it's something a little more classic that I can wear to work and out and about. I have been dreaming about this bag since I saw it online. I went into an LV store in Orlando but they were all out and told me that it was unlikely that any store would have any in soon. The first day I was in New York, I went to both LV stores and the boutique in Saks had ONE bag. As I thought more about it, I started feeling guilty about indulging and treating myself. My husband kept trying to buy it but I said I wanted to think about it even though I not so secretly wanted it badly. It's strange because before kids, I didn't think twice before I bought something for myself, now with kids, I literally think of every little detail and try to talk myself out of everything. Sure enough, the next day, the bag was gone. As we walked through 5th Avenue to get to the park, we meandered into the 5th Avenue LV store, and there it was! As I was trying it on in front of a mirror, two other women were asking for it and I could hear the women asking the SA if they could purchase it. It was just meant to be and although it was definitely a splurge and I'm done buying handbags for a long time, it is my favorite bag ever. I've been wearing it non-stop since buying it and immediately put my stuff in it in the store and walked out (after paying, of course).
As soon as we got to the park, I promptly took out my Laduree macarons (yum!) and walked through until we got to the Boathouse. We bought some pretzels, people watched, the weather was perfect, and, ugh, take me back! It was another great day in the city. In the afternoon, we freshened up at the hotel to get ready for dinner and to see my little sister hard at work at Saturday Night Live!

New York State of Mind
This week I'll be sharing the trip my husband and I took to New York City a couple of weeks ago. We took a quick weekend getaway trip without the kids and, as much as I missed them, we had the most wonderful time! It was a weekend full of shopping, Hamilton, Saturday Night Live, oh my! We even ate at restaurants and weren't rushed or flustered in order to prevent a toddler or baby meltdown. It was our first trip together since having kids. We've been on vacations before just had the kids with us. It was great to sleep in for once and just wander around the city we love so much. Our first night, my sister met us at our hotel, New York Palace, and took us to see her office at Rockefeller Center which was just a block or so away. It was great to see a glimpse into her fabulous life in the city. For you Gossip Girl fans, the Palace hotel is where Serena and her family lived. The hotel was amazing, spacious, and in the perfect central location. Plus, I have no shame in admitting I'm a Gossip Girl fan :-) Our first stop after sleeping in was to go to Central Park and see the Gapstow Bridge where my husband proposed to me 8 years ago. It was just as beautiful as I remembered it. My favorite thing to do in the city is to walk around the park. I can't wait to hopefully go back next year and bring Lucas because I know he will love running around Central Park. After a full day of walking, shopping, and eating, we went back to our hotel to get ready for dinner at Southern Hospitality (so yummy!) and then to see Hamilton! Photos of that to come in the next post!
xoxo, Gossip Girl (sorry had to!)

Another Striped Sweater
I don't know how many striped sweaters and shirts I own but it's a lot and it's never enough. I just love a good striped top or sweater. I've recently began purging my closet and getting rid of things I haven't worn in over a decade really. I found a top that I work in one of my sorority functions and I graduated college in 2005...and...it was a striped top.

Weekend Down Time
Because we are so busy during the week, it would make sense that we would like to just stay home on the weekends but, it has become healthier for all of us to get out of the house and be busy at least one of the weekend days. It comes to no surprise to those that know us that we are a Disney family, Disnerds really. With our annual passes and living so close to the parks, we regularly go but on the weekends that we stay home, it feels nice to get out of the pjs and enjoy time at the park or at a kids play area. Part of working through my working mommy guilt is to feel like the time I do have with my kids is precious and not wasted. I want my kids to know that even if I'm working, when I am home with them, I am hands on and enjoy being with them. And I couldn't help but sneak in the bottom photos of Olivia! I mean look at those thighs! I'm obsessed!

Back and Ready
What is this?? What is this?? Remember me??? Yes, folks, I'm back. I took a super long blogging break but I'm excited...to be back! Honestly, I was overwhelmed with work and other priorities that I was taking horrible care of myself and, thus, blogging took a back seat. I'm not ashamed to admit that after having Olivia, my post-partum depression was at an all time high and with going back to a high paced career and adjusting to life with two kids, it took it's toll on me. Thankfully, although I don't ever think my working mommy guilt will ever go away, I'm getting a better handle on things and life is great. I'm looking forward to continuing this blogging adventure and posting about life lately including an amazing trip to New York just my husband and I took! Oh and I also have been shopping! For reals though, I feel like I haven't shopped for myself in forever and it finally feels great to buy a nice handbag...or two...
Oh and I'm also training for a marathon! So.Much.To.Tell.You.
