Mixing Time

I'm finally down to like 5 different outfits and two pairs of shoes that I've been cycling through because nothing else fits.  Trying to be creative in mixing the things that do fit for work actually has me excited to shop my closet once my clothes fit again.

I've been loving getting to catch up on bloglovin and getting ideas for the fall.  It's definitely motivating me and taking my mind off the aches and pains I'm currently going through in this last little part of my third trimester.  Okay, confession time, before getting pregnant, I had no idea what trimesters were...please don't let me be the only almost 30 year old that didn't know...

Neon on Weekends

This weekend I downloaded the What to Expect When Expecting app on my phone so I can check daily on what size the baby should be, etc.  My app says now that my baby is the size of a head of lettuce...yeah umm...by the looks of my belly, my kid is the size of all the lettuce at the supermarket.  It's going to be a long summer!  Happy Monday :-)

Dizzy Dots

I seem to name almost all my posts "dots" something.  I'm original.  I'm so flipping excited for this weekend because on Saturday it's my baby shower!  Family is coming in town that I haven't seen in awhile so I anticipate lots of laughs and good times ;-)

I've officially said bye bye to my heels.  I put on a pair of heels the other day because I had a court hearing and I couldn't even stand in them for more than a minute.  It's flats for me.  I read something the other day that some women's feet permanently grow half a size after pregnancy.  I'm truly hoping that this doesn't happen to me (not that it's the worst thing in the world).

Linking up with Tara of Mix and Match Fashion today!

Bright Dots

It was a drabby and rainy Saturday but I wasn't going to let that stop me from getting on the move.  Saturdays are usually my stay at home, no makeup or fuss kind of day, but this Saturday, I had plans to go to brunch with other preggo ladies.  It was fun swapping stories over breakfast especially because we are all so close in due dates.

I copied this outfit from MK at Outfit Posts.  I initially tried to button up my cardigan but that was laughable.

Navy Polka Dots and Stripes

I really wish that more mainstream stores had maternity options.  I spent a good portion of my day adjusting/pulling this top down since the fit is off now that my belly is in the way.  My necklace was also being quickly swallowed up by my ummmm ever growing chest (very new to me!)  I've been remixing and using the different maternity clothes that I have with pre-pregnancy clothes which seemed to work.  Now, tops are just not fitting as comfortably unless they are loose cotton or side ruching (basically maternity tops).  I may buy a couple maxi dresses for the summer but I'm done buying anything else maternity since I'm already pretty far along.  Any ladies and mommas out there have advice on comfort during the summer months while 8-9 months pregnant?

Stripes and Dots

Just, you know, testing the seams on my pre-maternity clothes and they're barely holding together.  My husband sweetly said to me the other day that if I really need more maternity clothes that he would be happy to go shopping with me...big mistake buddy ;-)  I obviously took him up on his offer and picked up just a few things that I hope will be enough to take me through these last couple of months.  Of the things I bought, one was a dress I'm planning on wearing to my baby shower!

Chevron Zags

My sweet and hilarious Titi Isabelita (titi is spanish for "Aunt") bought me maternity tops in December and I'm finally able to fit into them which makes me very happy!  I initially only purchased maternity bottoms and a couple of dresses but neglected to buy tops.  Until now, I've been able to fit into my regular tops but lately I've really been testing the seams.  I'm fully embracing my new maternity tops and the flexibility and ease they bring to my everyday attire!

So Many Questions

I've become one of those obnoxious women that sees people with babies and runs up to them so I can ask a million and one questions.  Seriously.  If you have a baby and I'm in your vicinity, run away from me because I will talk your ear off.  I've been welcoming all advice, good and bad, because I'm new to this mom thing.  I also seriously pray that being a new mom will just come naturally to me but, in the meantime, I think I'll pester those around me.

On a totally unrelated note, do navy and black go together?  How's that for a topic change!

Diva Confessions

Random thought of the the day:  Fashion Night on Bravo is becoming my favorite night of the week (besides Friday).  I mean Rachel Zoe Project,  Brad Brad World, then Dukes of Melrose...fashion television heaven.  In my next life I want to be a stylist or fashion designer.

I've received a couple comments and questions on how I can still be wearing heels pregnant but I have a couple diva confessions.  Firstly and grossly, I take my shoes off at the office.  I know that's nasty but I don't walk around barefoot and I sit in my chair 95% of the time.  Second, and here comes the diva confession, I'm pretty lazy when it comes to moving around so most the time, people come to me at the office versus me walking around.  So in my defense, I'm not so much a diva and more just plain lazy...don't judge me too harshly.

This weekend, my husband and I accomplished so much for our little Lucas.  On Saturday, we (and by we I mean my husband) pretty much finished the entire nursery with just a few things missing.  On Sunday, we took a day trip to Tampa to visit my sister, Melisa.  Not only did she and my mom buy more cute clothes for Lucas but Melisa surprised us with a bag FULL of more goodies.  Pictures of Lucas' loot are on my instagram.  Lucas will definitely be one spoiled little boy :-)  I hope it was a good weekend for all!

Out of Element

Shirt: Old Navy  /  Shirt: Forever 21  /  Pants: Gap Maternity  /  Shoes: DSW  /  Handbag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

This past Saturday, my husband, mom, and I ventured out to Buy Buy Baby.  That store is crazy!  It's literally a Bed Bath and Beyond but just baby stuff.  I was so overwhelmed and out of my element.  I've never been very good at buying anything for children and even worse buying things for boys.  I had fun looking at the little toys and clothes but when I realized how many things a baby actually needs, my mind got scrambled.  Just being honest :-/  I realized that I need to do more research but thankfully I've got some time.

Priorities

Sweater: Ann Taylor  /  Shirt: Gap  /  Skirt: Motherhood Maternity  /  Handbag: Chanel  / Shoes: Banana Republic

I normally wouldn't post such an ordinary outfit post like this but I've been getting questions on how I've been dressing the bump for court/suit outfits and this is it.  I think I've discussed how particular I am about dressing for court but to sum it up, I always feel the need to dress my most professional--fashionable or not.  Obviously, I prefer to look stylish but, honestly, clients pay their hard earned money for me to represent them so when it comes to dressing for court, I dress for the job not for me.  Maybe that will change more as I grow older but, lately, it has definitely changed as my bump grows larger.  I like to tuck my shirt in for court but that just isn't possible anymore.  Now, I can't tuck my shirts in and my jackets don't button up.  But that's okay.  Before pregnancy, I felt more comfortable going to court with my shirt tucked in, jacket buttoned but now, I'm more comfortable with a loose fitting shirt and my jacket undone.  I think Judges understand too that I don't mean to disrespect the court by not buttoning my jacket.

I thought a lot about this last week when I was sitting outside the courtroom waiting for my case to be called.  I looked down and saw my jacket unbuttoned but knew I could do anything about it since I haven't purchased a maternity suit.  Maybe a minute later, my stomach felt like popcorn popping inside which I thought was odd until I remembered that I'm not alone.  There's a little baby in there kicking and moving around and it's the first time I'm literally feeling it!  Doesn't that just sound so cheesy?!  It really is what I thought at that time though.  It was a good court day.

Warm Winters

Sweater: Gap  /  Skirt: Gap Maternity  /  Scarf: Target  /  Handbag: Louis Vuitton  /  Shoes: Sole Society 'Kelly'

The top part of this outfit was copied/inspired by an outfit from Outfit Posts (love her blog!).  My husband asked me if it was necessary for me to wear a scarf.  Well, even though I'm not wearing tights nor wearing a jacket, the scarf was completely necessary.  If it hits below 70 degrees, I consider that to be winter...the kind of winter where I can wear flip flops but still need a scarf.  Any other Floridians agree with me?  There's got to be someone that agrees with me...

Practical Love

My husband and I have become quite the practical gift givers.  He gave me a Clarisonic Mia and he bought himself a vacuum.  I say he bought himself the vacuum because I could never bring myself to spend as much as he did for a flipping vacuum.  Since it is our finances, you could say my gift was that I would stop stopping him from buying the vacuum.  He had his mind set on a Dyson vacuum which of course we had to order because we couldn't find the one he wanted locally.  The man literally said to me, "I can't wait for the weekend to be over because I'm that much closer to getting my vacuum."  And that people is love.

Weekend Errands

These are my new maternity jeans.  I banned myself from shopping but these were purchased with a gift card I received for Christmas.  Back to the main topic though - maternity bottoms.  Seriously, how will I ever go back to normal pants, jeans, or skirts?  Maternity bottoms are the most comfortable things EVER.  I'm not kidding.  I don't even care if the maternity band shows - that band is magical.  My favorite pencil skirts for work are from J Crew but, unfortunately, they don't have a maternity line.  I would love to know if anyone knows where I can find colorful maternity skirts!  I think I would cheat on my ban if I could find them...shhhhhh...

New Year, New Me

Shirt: J Crew  /  Sweater: Gap  /  Pants: Talbots  /  Handbag: Kate Spade  /  Necklace: J Crew

Why hello there and happy new year!  Did you have any resolutions for the new year?  I had one and it's pretty simple...snap out of it!  Admittedly, since I learned that I was pregnant about 2 1/2 months ago, I got into a deep dark funk.  Not because I am not ecstatic about the lil one we're expecting in the summer but because I got really sick and just felt crappy overall.  My blogging was sporadic because I wasn't dressing up for work, my hair and makeup was a mess, and I just stopped caring.  Well, I am by no means the first pregnant woman that still has to work full time so I've decided to quit the pity party and snap out of it.

I am now looking forward to blogging more regularly because I really want to look back to see the growth of this already ginormous belly.  For how early I am in my pregnancy, my belly is big.  The picture in this post was taken three weeks ago and it makes me sad to look at it because those pants no longer fit me.  I didn't anticipate my belly growing so quickly.  I even had to tell my cousin I couldn't be in her wedding this past December because I no longer fit in my bridesmaid dress.  Although it sucked to not be in the wedding, it just means I have a healthy and growing baby so that makes me very happy.

During my blogging break, I started ready some "mommy" blogs and I discovered something...I'm the worst preggo mommy.  I seriously had a panic attack when I learned that I was eating things I shouldn't be and using the wrong soaps, etc.  No judgment please! :-)  Needless to say, I need to buy some books and read up quick.  Don't worry, I won't be dishing out any advice because, let's be honest, I know nothing.

This has turned out to be a longer post than usual!  Thank you again and I hope you all had a great holiday season!

Berry Lines

Excluding a dress I accidentally purchased from the maternity section this summer, this sweater is my very first maternity purchase.  Even though this sweater was in the Gap Maternity section, I don't really see what makes it "maternity."  It fits a little looser and longer so those are the only differences I see.  In regards to maternity clothes, I only want to buy essentials and maybe a shirt or two that doesn't fit the "essential" mold.  However, I work every day from 8:30-who knows when so I'm realizing that my idea of just buying three things may not be realistic.

We took these photos early morning Saturday and it was super foggy which is why the pictures are sort of blueish.  These were also the only non blurry pictures...photographer/husband fail!  We were on our way out to go car shopping which my husband says was his "push" present.  He CLEARLY does not understand the concept of who receives a "push" present :-)

Bright Do-Over

This pink is BRIGHT!  You would think that something this bright should be worn sparingly.  Not this lazy girl.  Since picking this sweater up at Gap on Wednesday, I've worn it twice.  Because I love it that much?  Maybe but no...pure laziness and what better way to welcome Monday?

Candy Aftermath

I may or may not have taken a stash of candy from my mom's house.  I like to think of it as saving those little kids from cavities.  No matter how old I get, Halloween is always an excuse for me to eat as much candy as I can the whole night long.  It's so worth the guilt I feel the next day and the urge to almost want to spend the whole day at the gym.  Almost.

Blue Trees

Nope.  That's not a photoshop trick.  Those really are blue trees.  The University of Florida campus has turned some of its trees blue and it truly is amazingly beautiful.  The artist, Konstantin Dimopolous, painted the trees blue as a social statement to raise awareness for the importance of the survival of trees.  If you're interested, you can learn more about the artist and his project here.
