Goodbye October

 

Is it possibly the last week in October?  No.  Not possible.  Fall has finally just arrived in Florida. It was laundry day so baggy clothes it was to run errands.  I'm thinking of those of you up north, especially my little sister and family...please stay safe!

Distractions

To say I get distracted easily is an understatement.  It was extremely hard to not watch the golfers mainly because I  had no idea people golf at 7 p.m.  I don't mean to offend but I don't golf and right after I took these pictures I threw on a huge pair of pajamas because that's what I do at 7 p.m.  To each their own, right?  Happy Weekend!

Sweet Everythings

I'm going to be sweet and sappy today...doesn't happen often.  Here goes.  My husband and I have been married for two years but together 12 1/2 years.  We, also, work at the same law firm.  Because we have been together for so long and spend a lot of time together, it takes a lot to surprise one another.  Last week, my husband came along to one of my hearings that was out of town.  The hearing took the whole day and I was exhausted.  On the drive back home, he says to me that he didn't know what kind of mood I would be in and then he hands me his Iphone.  Confused, I turn his screen on and see a shopbop invoice for this lovely Rebecca Minkoff bag!

I've been drooling over this bag for so long and seeing it on the oh so stylish Noelle of Beautygirl24 in this gray color solidified that I really wanted this bag.  I over think every purchase I make but my husband is impulsive.  This time, it worked in my favor because I am so in love with this bag!  It's the perfect size, color, and so versatile (straps are changeable).  What I love most about it, is that my husband bought it for me and after all this time together, he can still surprise me :-)

Sunny Evenings

These bright sunny evenings are throwing me for a loop lately.  After a long day at the office, I can't wait until I can get into my comfy pjs, throw a big blanket over me and either watch some tv or catch up with some blogs.  However, the sun shining so brightly through my windows makes me think that maybe I shouldn't start to wind down so early even though it's 7:00 p.m.  Then again, working the long hours then leaving work when it's still bright out has its perks.  I digress...

Cold Hearted Snake

I think my mirror memorized the lyrics and dance moves to 'Cold Hearted Snake' seen as though I gave the mirror a concert to it a million times.  Anywho, I'm linking up today with Marionberry Style and this month's challenge was animal print.  I have my fair share of leopard print but this is the only snakeskin print I own.  I feel very fancy pants skirts in this...see what I did there...I crack myself up :-)  Also linking up with The Pleated Poppy!

Farmer's Market Breakfast

Putting this post together, I realized that everything I wore, head to toe mostly, was from Target.  I told my husband about this discovery and his response, "that'll be my favorite post of all time."  Oh boy...

Saturday morning, my husband and I walked around the Village Farmer's Market and had breakfast at my favorite breakfast restaurant.  Simple kind of morning but it made me realize how much I love where I live and how much I enjoy days like these.  The Gators beat Tennessee so it was a nice lil Florida Saturday :-)

Swamp Fire

If you live in the South, especially where I'm from, college football is life.  Umm, my alma mater discovered Tim Tebow, enough said.  Okay, we didn't discover him... Anywho, I started pulling out my game day shirts and realized that I don't really own "cute" game day clothes.  In fact, I kind of dress like a boy...jerseys, game t-shirts...I never really get the girls that wear nice dresses, heels, and lots of jewelry to the games.  On the other hand, I am super sloppy.  Any ideas on dressing on the nicer side without wearing pencil skirts and heels?  By the way, anyone else's J Crew pencil skirts wrinkle up as badly as mine?  I literally just steamed this skirt before heading out too :-(

Guest Post: My Baby Sister

Welcome my baby sister, Adriana, to the blog!  While I'm the oldest of the four girls, Adri, is the youngest which can't be easy!  This fashion savvy lil sis is a college student in New York City and interns at one of the big television networks aka I'm jealous.  She periodically will text me outfits and ask "yay" or "nay" and she's always off to work or be somewhere fabulous.  Even though she has grown up to be a gorgeous woman, I will always see and remember her as the little nugget playing nintendo in a large t-shirt.

Country Chic

Sometimes my shopping habit of stalking an item and waiting for it to go on sale fails me miserably.  By the time my prized item has hit the sales, either my size or color I want are sold out.  I had been patiently waiting for these Aldo Leggat sandals to go on sale...okay, that's a lie because I was willing to pay full price but could never get my hands on them.  Finally, last week a pair in my size and color popped up online AND on sale so the wait was meant to be!

Blue Oasis

I had been eyeing this Ann Taylor necklace for a long time. I love statement necklaces but I don't like to spend a lot on necklaces that I wouldn't wear everyday unless I absolutely loveitcan'tlivewithoutitcan'tgetitoutofmyhead. Although this necklace qualified for most, I couldn't justify paying full price. When it went on sale to $19.99, my psychotic shopper side came out so I called my local store, you know instead of driving over there since it's only 5 minutes away but that would've been to easy. I called my local store to purchase it over the phone and pick it up after work. Well, the SA was about to process my order when she said that someone saw her pull the necklace out for me, liked it and wanted to buy it. Ummmmm....that's my necklace!

Long story short, I called around to other stores and had one shipped to me. It was worth the hassle :-) Normal Maria wouldn't actually call this a "hassle" but psychotic shopper Maria is pretty powerful...and makes me talk in third person...
