Bright Dots

It was a drabby and rainy Saturday but I wasn't going to let that stop me from getting on the move.  Saturdays are usually my stay at home, no makeup or fuss kind of day, but this Saturday, I had plans to go to brunch with other preggo ladies.  It was fun swapping stories over breakfast especially because we are all so close in due dates.  

I copied this outfit from MK at Outfit Posts.  I initially tried to button up my cardigan but that was laughable.

Chevron Zags

My sweet and hilarious Titi Isabelita (titi is spanish for "Aunt") bought me maternity tops in December and I'm finally able to fit into them which makes me very happy!  I initially only purchased maternity bottoms and a couple of dresses but neglected to buy tops.  Until now, I've been able to fit into my regular tops but lately I've really been testing the seams.  I'm fully embracing my new maternity tops and the flexibility and ease they bring to my everyday attire!

Autumn Grains

Two days in a row of wearing a bow top but I can't help it, bows are my weakness.  Brown isn't really a color I like wearing too much but whenever I think of this time of year, browns and greens always come to mind.  This skirt runs on the short side, for me anyways, so tights were necessary.

Leopard Greens

Polka Dot Luau

I wore this Asos polka dot dress to a luau.  That's right...a luau.  Not luau enough for you?  I wore a lei later on in the evening...I could seriously live in cotton dresses all day long.  This dress is being taken to get altered as it's too long for me but it is so so comfy!  Oh and the jacket, yeah, it's in the 80's here (probably because of Isaac) which means it's chilly...hence, the jacket ;-)  Oh and oh!  It's also a maternity dress...but I'm not pregnant so I sized down.

Polished Maxi

Lately, I've been posting more of my weekend outfits because, honestly, if I'm going to court a lot in one week, my outfits start looking all the same.   Keeping track of my outfits through this blog has really helped me see if I'm repetitive and how to reuse things already in my closet.  Before the blog, I was constantly stricken with the "I have nothing to wear" thought and that's when I would hit the stores.  Now, I see how I can use something in a different way without feeling like I already wore it.

I wear my clothes multiple times.  Period.  I wish I could show a brand new outfit every day but that just isn't my real life.  I do buy new clothes here and there but when I buy something I think in my head how many things can I wear this with.  If I can only come up with one outfit, it's not coming home with me.  That's just my two cents on my shopping philosophy.  I have many more but that's for another day :-)

Miss Matched

Has anyone ever gotten dressed in the dark?  I have and did today.  I feel like I have two outfits on at once (like the top part should be worn with jeans and the bottom part with something more polished).  By the end of the week, I'm feeling uninspired which is when I just throw on something that somewhat resembles a work appropriate outfit.  Ugh, come on weekend!

Fact:  I found the perfect solution to give me the will to go to the gym today and put down the bag of Muddy Buddies...I cropped a picture of myself next to a skinny model and put it on the internet.  Now, I know what works!

I have been seriously lacking in the thinking for myself department this week and have looked to Lucky Magazine for inspiration.  I put a sticky on this photo from the issue with Leighton Meester on the cover because I knew it would come in handy on days like this.  I just recently purchased this skirt from JC Penney for only $14.  I've been meaning to wear it and thought it would work well with this inspiration.

Blushing Pink Ruffles

The way I usually shop is that I bookmark or mental note something and wait for it to go on super sale.  That's why I love this time of year because everything goes on sale (40% sale at J Crew = one dangerously scared husband and checking account).  It may seem like I shop a lot but I really don't (well, maybe a lil more than the more responsible person).  Anywho, today I thought to myself, "self, you should buy an elliptical machine instead of buying that bracelet you've been saving up for and work on that getting healthy thing you're always worried about." Umm, someone check my temperature or if there isn't a post on Wednesday, I've injured myself on the elliptical...should have kept saving for the bracelet.

Colorblocking Polka Dots

I've had this J Crew cardigan (on sale!) since it first went on sale but kept saving to wear it. Is anyone else guilty of "saving" an outfit? I totally am guilty! I have the silliest reasons for saving outfits so I've decided to stop this habit and just wear what I want when I want...I sound like a 5 year old ;-)
