Currently Craving: Seeing Blue

1. Target  /  2. In This Very Room  /  3. Chanel  /  4. Loft  /  5. Tory Burch

Baby fever is in full force and so is the color blue.  Now, I've been trying to buy things for my little boy that aren't blue on purpose, but I can't help but see blue everywhere!  If I wasn't on a shopping ban, I would have pulled the trigger on many of these items...okay, ALL of these items.  The Tory Burch baby bag is too cute (and perfect for a 30th birthday gift from loved ones, hint hint!), I'd love the monogram color necklace in Lucas' initials, the Target dress would be perfect for being pregnant in the summer, loving the bow flats, and Chanel...Chanel.

Love Is All You Need

Sweater: Forever 21  /  Shirt: J Crew  /  Skirt: Motherhood Maternity  /  Shoes: Stuart Weitzman  /  Handbag: Chanel  /  Accessories: J Crew, Ebay, Stella and Dot, David Yurman

Happy Valentine's Day!  I wore this outfit on Sunday and thought how Valentinesy it looked then I remembered that Valentine's Day was today!  Oops, pregnancy brain.  So I'll be wearing this again since only like two people saw me on Sunday.  Does anyone else do that?

Today is extra special because, fingers crossed, we find out the baby's gender at our appointment this morning!!!!!!!!  I'm so excited I can barely stand it!  I've been reading online how some women drink Mountain Dew or something really sugary to make sure the baby is alert during the appointment.  I'm going to play it safe with some orange juice and hope for the best.  I have a feeling it's going to be a boy but will be very happy either way!

Bows, Bows, Bows

When I think of yellow and black together, I think of a bumblebee and not in a good way.  Yet, I always gravitate between pairing the two colors together and it isn't until I've been in the outfit for a whole workday that I think, "man, I look like a bumblebee."  Maybe I'll remember to pair yellow with something different and that's a big maybe seen as though these days I've been shampooing my hair three times in a row because I forget whether or not I've washed it or not.  Oy vey...

Devil in Me

Dress: Target  /  Handbag: Chanel  /  Shoes: Sam Edelman  /  Accessories: Gucci Sunglasses, J Crew, Stella and Dot, David Yurman, Elizabeth Cole

I'm trying my best to channel this outfit from the movie "Devil Wears Prada."  That is one movie that I could watch over and over and over again.  One of my husband's pet peeves is that I can watch movies over and over again without getting sick of them.  But who can resist not watching films like Legally Blonde, Devil Wears Prada, Bridget Jones, and 500 Days of Summer three times in one day?  Am I right or am I right?

I normally wouldn't post such an ordinary outfit post like this but I've been getting questions on how I've been dressing the bump for court/suit outfits and this is it.  I think I've discussed how particular I am about dressing for court but to sum it up, I always feel the need to dress my most professional--fashionable or not.  Obviously, I prefer to look stylish but, honestly, clients pay their hard earned money for me to represent them so when it comes to dressing for court, I dress for the job not for me.  Maybe that will change more as I grow older but, lately, it has definitely changed as my bump grows larger.  I like to tuck my shirt in for court but that just isn't possible anymore.  Now, I can't tuck my shirts in and my jackets don't button up.  But that's okay.  Before pregnancy, I felt more comfortable going to court with my shirt tucked in, jacket buttoned but now, I'm more comfortable with a loose fitting shirt and my jacket undone.  I think Judges understand too that I don't mean to disrespect the court by not buttoning my jacket.

I thought a lot about this last week when I was sitting outside the courtroom waiting for my case to be called.  I looked down and saw my jacket unbuttoned but knew I could do anything about it since I haven't purchased a maternity suit.  Maybe a minute later, my stomach felt like popcorn popping inside which I thought was odd until I remembered that I'm not alone.  There's a little baby in there kicking and moving around and it's the first time I'm literally feeling it!  Doesn't that just sound so cheesy?!  It really is what I thought at that time though.  It was a good court day.

Until Fall...

Sweater: Banana Republic  /  Shirt: Macy's  /  Skirt: J Crew  /  Shoes: Stuart Weitzman  /  Handbag: Chanel

I had to say goodbye to this skirt after I wore it.  In fact, I had to say goodbye to almost 95% of my skirts and pants this week.  It's goodbye until fall when I can *fingers crossed* fit into them again.  I could probably wear this skirt again soon but I have a weird thing about skirts that are above the knee at the office.  I had to wear this skirt above the belly which shortened the hem.  At this point, I think it's funny how big my belly is getting so I'm fully embracing it!

Cobalt Tones

The top photo is totally staged.  Okay, so technically most all photos are not natural because who poses by themselves out in the street besides bloggers?  Anyhow, the reason I say it's staged is because I never ever cradle my belly with my hands.  It just isn't natural for me.  If you ever catch me out and about, chances are I'm lazily resting my hands on top of my belly like I'm flipping Santa Clause or something...not cute.  Have a great weekend!

Vote Walk

It's Election Day and although I will not preach, judge, etc about the elections, I do encourage those of you who can vote to do so.  How cute is this video about the little girl tired of "Bronco Bama" and Mitt Romney?!

Candy Aftermath

I may or may not have taken a stash of candy from my mom's house.  I like to think of it as saving those little kids from cavities.  No matter how old I get, Halloween is always an excuse for me to eat as much candy as I can the whole night long.  It's so worth the guilt I feel the next day and the urge to almost want to spend the whole day at the gym.  Almost.

Hocus Pocus

Halloween apparently came early this year!  Not gonna lie but the sun is doing all sorts of weirdness to my hair, eyes, and face in these pictures.  The brightness made my eyes look glassy and hair red but it didn't make my legs red; those are tights, silly.  I have to poke fun at myself because if I don't who will....oh, my husband who said I look like an avatar because my hair is covering my neck will.

Okay enough self deprecation, anyone recognize the title of my post?  If not, shame on you!  Hocus Pocus is one of the greatest films of all times.  Well, top halloween film for me.  Last year, I bought the DVD along with Teen Witch and The Worst know, other great films.  I'll be the cool girl watching these movies on halloween.  I'm super cool you see :-)

Boys are so lucky.  They get to wear comfy loafers every day if they wanted to.  Admittedly, these aren't the cutest shoes but, gosh darn it, they are one of the most comfortable shoes ever. Seriously.  I bought these at Target this weekend and for $25 they came home with me.  Since I have to wear dress shoes for work, the weekends call for comfort and comfort only.  I could sleep in these...

Basically Basic

It's true, my style is simple.  Is that a bad thing though?  I always go for comfort over style but try to balance the line of trying to look nice while still feeling comfortable.  Although there isn't much excitement with this outfit, it's comfortable, and for me, that's okay :-)

Lake Alice

I'm risking my life here people.  When I was little, my dad took my sisters and I out to Lake Alice to see the alligators.  I guess my sisters and I may have gotten a little too close to the water so my dad warned us that alligators are quick to snatch up little kids and eat them...scarred for life.  So when my husband kept telling me that he couldn't see my face to take a picture, ummm that's because someone has to keep an eye out for any alligators.  Jeesh.  As soon as I heard a little kid scream, "there's one!" I bolted.

Out and About

Do I find it silly that I put pictures on the internet of myself?  Yes.  Do I find it silly that pictures are taken of me by myself in public?  Yes.  I do find humor in it that my hubby now thinks of himself as a pro photographer.  What's not so funny is when he tells me to "suck it in."  Doghouse for sure, mmmkay.

Today I'm linking up with Pretty Shiny Sparkly for the Bloggers Do It Better Challenge - oxblood. Confession, I've never used the word 'oxblood' to describe this color.  I usually call it red or burgundy.  I'm a total guy when it comes to color names.

I'm also guest posting over on Schnelle today!  Come check it out and say hi!  It's a Pinterest inspired post :-)

Fallen Leaves

The leaves have fallen!  I love how pretty nature is this time of year.  This past weekend, I picked up a bunch of pine cones and next weekend I plan on using them for a diy project I found on Pinterest.  Gotta love the weekends!  I finally got my hands on the Stella & Dot renegade bracelet, many many many thanks to Jamey and Jack's Mom!

Country Spark

I'm very proud to admit that I am a reality t.v. show junkie.  I know I've mentioned my love for the Honey Boo Boo show here two or four times already, ummm did anyone else see Mama June make sketti???  If not, google it, I haven't looked at spaghetti the same ever since.  It's almost the end of another work week and while I know others may have more exciting plans, I seriously love weekends that include my favorite grungy pjs, in bed, catching up on my reality t.v. shows. It's my idea of bliss.
