This weekend we celebrated Father's Day and my 34th birthday on the same day. I had written in my planner to "do big things today" but instead I took an unheard of afternoon nap and I call that a success these days! The day was spent with loved ones and cake - also great success :-) Hope you all had a great weekend!

Another Birthday Gift Guide
Another birthday, another year where I can't remember how old I'll be. Seriously, I had to ask my husband. I think once you get to the point where you can't remember your own age, you are too old to be making a birthday gift guide; however, should I decide to buy myself something nice, the items below are things that have caught my eye. But let's be honest, what I really want is to sleep in and eat Nutella all day. Just being honest.

Lucas' First Birthday Party
I started planning Lucas' party little by little a few months ago. We went with a "prince" and my mom and I slowly began gathering things in his birthday colors. My husband made the awesome invitations! I helped by putting the wax seal on the back but that was the extent of my help with the invitations. We did a lot of crafting such as making the banner and the crown. Since the day was for Lucas, I really wanted to make sure that there were fun things for him to do and for the kids and babies coming over. We turned the patio into a playroom that had a water table, slide, tunnel, coloring books, ball pit, and a station to make a crown. The crown station was a hit! As for the smash cake, yeah, he was not so interested. I basically had to place his hands in the cake because he did not want to get dirty. Lucas played a lot, laughed a ton, and flirted with everyone. Overall, a great time was had by all!

11 Month Update and Old Lady 31
My love is 11 months old today and I'm an old lady at 31 today. Okay, 31 isn't old but pretty cray that I'm over 30 now. Eek! Lucas is every bit of delicious. He always has been but now he's more active, walking, talking up a storm, but the tantrums I could do without. Yes, my 11 month old throws tantrums that puts Naomi Campbell to shame. We're gearing up for his first birthday and I can barely believe it. How has an entire year flown by so fast? I love this little boy with every ounce of my being and watching him explore new things is one of my greatest pleasures.

Birthday Wishes
My mind is on Lucas' birthday, moving, and home decorating (hence the random lamp I'm loving) so I do not plan on splurging on any birthday gift for myself this year. I'm lame. However, if I was a billionaire, I would splurge on these items plus a trip to Greece, beach house, and an apartment in NYC. But only if I was a billionaire, ha.

Dirty Thirty Birthday
Today is my 30th birthday...yikes! Yesterday was the last day I could say I'm in my 20's, so I guess these pictures accurately reflect that I'm in mourning (only kidding!) My H says that I'm all grown up now because he's been asking me what I would like for my birthday and I couldn't think of one thing. Old Maria probably had a list of possible birthday gifts (I'm a brat and I know this) but this year all I could think of was dinner and sleep! So I guess I went from being 29 years old to 80 years old. This year will be one of the best years of my life and I'm so looking forward to this next chapter.
To quote a Tim McGraw song, for "my next thirty years, I'm gonna have some fun, try to forget about all the crazy things I've done. Maybe now I've conquered all my adolescent fears and I'll do better in my next thirty years...my next thirty years, will be the best years of my life. Raise a little family and hang out with my [husband]. Spend precious moment with the ones that I hold dear. Make up for lost time here in my next thirty years."

Happy Birthday, Mia!
This lil cutie is my baby Mia and she turns 5 years old today! She is my baby and, yes, I am one of those weirdo dog owners that thinks it's hilarious to dress up their dog on occasion. She hates it so the costume only stays on for long enough to get at least one photo. She's been an alligator, hotdog, and a little mermaid but my favorite costume has to be the last minute Lady Gaga costume...I know...it's weird ;-)
