Miss Matched

Has anyone ever gotten dressed in the dark?  I have and did today.  I feel like I have two outfits on at once (like the top part should be worn with jeans and the bottom part with something more polished).  By the end of the week, I'm feeling uninspired which is when I just throw on something that somewhat resembles a work appropriate outfit.  Ugh, come on weekend!

I'd like for people to think that I get super fancy every day.  By super fancy, I mean putting on makeup and brushing my hair.  Nope!  I wear little to no makeup and a not so special bun in my hair 99% of the weekend.  

In other fancy related news, hubby has added some fancy new additions to my blog!  Check out the grab button and instagram features to the left!  It wasn't until yesterday that I looked through my instagram photos and realized that I take a whole lot of photos of my food and my dog...lawhosaher ;-)

Pattern Mixing

I'm linking up today with Marionberry Style's Trend of the Month which is pattern mixing.  I originally planned to wear a black skirt with this but I chose to wear pants and look at that, I managed to get myself all wrinkly again.  I think I need a steamer in my office.  Oh and I am wearing a necklace it's just hiding in the photos.  I like mixing different patterns together and have been staring at my closet more and more to see what else I can mix up!

I also wanted to share the gift my hubby gave me yesterday for our two year anniversary!  From the mr. to his mrs. :-)

Fashionspirations: Feeling Lucky

Fact:  I found the perfect solution to give me the will to go to the gym today and put down the bag of Muddy Buddies...I cropped a picture of myself next to a skinny model and put it on the internet.  Now, I know what works!

I have been seriously lacking in the thinking for myself department this week and have looked to Lucky Magazine for inspiration.  I put a sticky on this photo from the issue with Leighton Meester on the cover because I knew it would come in handy on days like this.  I just recently purchased this skirt from JC Penney for only $14.  I've been meaning to wear it and thought it would work well with this inspiration.

Lacey Court Days

It's another court appearance day and it looks like these days will be happening a lot this week. In my many attempts to spruce up my court outfits, I decided to wear this lace top with a blazer of course.  Color was limited to my necklace and lipstick...baby steps, baby steps.

Fiery and Leopard

I'm wearing an orange skirt.  Seriously, it's orange...orangy red?  Well, I thought it was red and still thought it was red in my closet but, nope, it's orange.  I really like it but just a few short months ago my clothes mostly consisted of dark gray or plain black bottoms.  Both of which I still adore but this summer has brought out a more colorful me...a me that wears orange skirts, orangy red skirts.

Blushing Pink Ruffles

The way I usually shop is that I bookmark or mental note something and wait for it to go on super sale.  That's why I love this time of year because everything goes on sale (40% sale at J Crew = one dangerously scared husband and checking account).  It may seem like I shop a lot but I really don't (well, maybe a lil more than the more responsible person).  Anywho, today I thought to myself, "self, you should buy an elliptical machine instead of buying that bracelet you've been saving up for and work on that getting healthy thing you're always worried about." Umm, someone check my temperature or if there isn't a post on Wednesday, I've injured myself on the elliptical...should have kept saving for the bracelet.

It's already mid July which feels so nutty to me!  When I was still in school, by this time, I was itching to start school clothes shopping and excited for my summer classes.  Therefore, I think I should start a movement that lawyers get summer vacations.  I'm not sure how that will work, but I'm going to keep brainstorming that thought.

Colorblocking Polka Dots

I've had this J Crew cardigan (on sale!) since it first went on sale but kept saving to wear it. Is anyone else guilty of "saving" an outfit? I totally am guilty! I have the silliest reasons for saving outfits so I've decided to stop this habit and just wear what I want when I want...I sound like a 5 year old ;-)

Fresh Whites

For many many years, I have strayed from owning any kind of white dress or white bottoms because I am a pro at staining my clothes.  Up until this point, the only white dress I owned was my wedding dress.  When I saw this white dress at H&M and these white shorts at J Crew on the same shopping trip I thought, you can do this, Maria, you can wear white and keep it white!  Hopefully, this lady can keep this dress clean because it's such a great summery dress!

Sometimes always, I feel extremely silly taking photos of myself outside with the possibility of others seeing me.  Although at times you can't tell by looking at the photo, I know when my expression says, "hey, neighbor, I see you looking at me taking photos and yes, I think it's kinda kooky too."  Hence my many, "omg, someone is watching"  faces :-)

Stings Like A Bee

It's odd going back to work after having a day off in the middle of the week...once again...not complaining :-)  It was actually a good break in between and makes the work week flow better for me.  I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July!

Simple Staples

Sometimes wearing simple basic staples such as a white button down and black skirt just makes my life easier.  Not that getting dressed in the morning is a hassle for me or anything.  However, there are those mornings where I've slept in 20 minutes over my normal wake up time and I don't have much time to think about what I want to wear.  Hence, white shirts and black skirts come to the rescue :-)

Sparkles and Green

Since I regretted not buying the green pencil skirt I saw on sale at J Crew two weekends ago when I was in Orlando, I made it a mission to locate another green skirt.  The city I live in does not have a J Crew and since the online price was much higher, it literally hurt to think I'd be paying way more than buying in store.  Luckily, I found this green skirt at Ann Taylor and it had an extra percentage off.  Score!
