Being sick all last week was the pits so I made the best of it by DIY-ing some Christmas ornaments for our tree this year. My love for ginger jars has no bounds and after searching everywhere for ginger jar ornaments, I decided to make my own. I bought white ornaments from Hobby Lobby and a couple of blue Sharpies and got to work. As for the patterns, there was no rhyme or reason and I just looked at all the jars around me for inspiration. If you were to try something like this, I would recommend buying a couple more than just two Sharpies because the ink runs out quick. This was a fun project and I will probably make more next year!

Vote Walk
It's Election Day and although I will not preach, judge, etc about the elections, I do encourage those of you who can vote to do so. How cute is this video about the little girl tired of "Bronco Bama" and Mitt Romney?!

Classically Headless
It was a headless kind of day. The kind of day where I had no inspiration to think, thus I turned to my J Crew catalog, and no makeup to cover up the under eye circles. My hubby says that my head being chopped in most of the photos was on accident but I know the truth. You see, there are these things called mirrors and I may or may not have glanced in them one or twice throughout the day. Bless his little heart.
I'm not one to reapply makeup during the day so that doubled with the fact that I barely even put on makeup in the morning did not turn out well. It's just one of those days...

Pep In My Step
I wore my DIY cap toe pumps this week in court. I had two back to back hearings and on top of thinking about my cases, I couldn't help but worry that the white paint was going to peel off. I just had this image of my case being called and as I'm walking up to take my place, the white paint completely falls off in front of the crowded court room. Well, it didn't and they survived a long day at the office. I threatened my hubby that after I finish painting the rest of my shoes, I'm going to cap toe paint his Nike's. I'm thinking purple...he'd definitely hate purple.

DIY: Cap Toe Pumps
I've always adored Stuart Weitzman. One of the most stylish woman that I looked up to was (and still is) my grandmother and she always had a pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes on her feet. When I spotted these Stuart Weitzman 'Capsized' Pumps, it was love at first sight. However, my wallet wasn't so in love with those beauties. Thanks to the magic that is Pinterest, I found numerous tutorials on painting cap toes on pumps. Since I fell ill on Saturday and couldn't cheer the Gators on at the Swamp, I did the next best thing and painted my shoes...hmmm, not sure how that was going to work out. I actually really really like how they turned out. They aren't perfect but unless my Stuart Weitzman lovelies go on super super super duper clearance sale, these diy pumps will do just fine.
I used acrylic white paint and a gloss varnish as I used patent leather shoes. I taped up all the sides then applied around 3 coats of paint and 2 coats of gloss varnish. I waited around 2 hours for them to dry then carefully peeled the tape off and voila! If you have any questions let me know :-)
