Flowers in October

How is it already October?  No complaints because it's my favorite time of the year but mere shock that it's already late in the year.  It's still blazing hot and last week when temps dipped into the low 70s, I literally saw people wearing scarves around town...SCARVES! Nope.

Casual Friday

It's 2014 and I am still rockin' a waist tied sweater like nobody's business.  Okay, I ended up wearing the sweater in its ended purpose once I stepped foot in my Antarctica office but I judge no one who wants to tie their sweater around their waist.  I will judge if you wear socks with sandals...Have a great weekend!

Retro

There's something about black and white polka dots and pearls that feels retro housewife to me.  I felt a little like I Love Lucy and in a great way.  Tell me I wasn't the only kid that watched I Love Lucy reruns on Nick at Nite?  I love the fit and ease of shirtdresses and I always forget this when thinking about making a clothing purchase.  I've been good all summer and not made very many clothing purchases for myself.  We are currently having our first home built and I'm saving up for all those lovely closing costs.  However, I do have my eye on a few items that I hope to share in a post soon!

Pane

I've been quite the little busy bee and have not had time for myself.  Hence, the silence over here.  I'm lucky there's a long weekend so I can try to catch up on life.  How is August already almost over?  I'm keeping this post short and sweet since Bravo and Pretty Little Liars are waiting for me.  Yes, I'm 31 and watch Pretty Little Liars...

Bien Fait

Yesterday was my 4 year wedding anniversary.  We celebrated by going out to dinner after Lucas went to bed and after playing with him for awhile, I didn't realize that I made myself a wrinkled up mess.  Oh well.  One of the gifts that my husband and I exchanged with each other was a weekend family getaway to a Disney resort and I could not be more excited.  Not only have I not had a vacation/getaway in forever but I've been dying to take Lucas to Disney!  Although, we won't be visiting any parks (waaaayyyy too hot and crowded in the summer), we picked a resort that was baby friendly and we also plan on going to a character dining restaurant for dinner.  I've always loved Disney World and can't wait to experience it with my child.  Plus, this skin could use some Vitamin C ifyaknowwhatImean...

Bad blogger!  Bad blogger!  Just when I start getting into the posting groove, poof!  Work hits me hard and Lucas' birthday party approaches (this weekend and so excited/sentimental!)  Just when I start thinking things will start slowing down, they multiple.  I won't complain though since there are worse things in the world.  My little guy's party is this weekend and this Friday he'll turn one...ONE!  I think I'll sign off now that I got misty eyed thinking about my baby no longer being a baby ;-(

Tropics

So I told my co-worker that I wouldn't be able to eat lunch at the office because I needed to make a quick Target run.  I had found out that Target had in stock hazelnut filled cookies and, obviously, this was an emergency.  Too much money later (doesn't that always happen at Target, or is it just me) I look in my bag and spy this cardigan with pineapples all over it.  PINEAPPLES people!  How stinkin' cute is it?!  At least it is in my opinion.  Because of what I do for a living, I spend a lot of time in the courtroom and who is going to be mean to an attorney wearing a pineapple print cardigan?  I mean really.  I should note that I did not wear this to court.  I'm not sure judges will have the same feeling as I do about pineapples on cardigans.  Crazy, I know.

Outfits of Work Days Past

It's no secret that I've seriously slacked on outfit posts.  Some days we'll take pictures but I just don't find the outfit or pictures blog worthy.  I'm striving to be more inspired and dress up a little more because I do believe that if you feel like you look well, your attitude is better.  I'm starting to work out again and think I've gotten into a routine.  Hopefully, getting into a workout routine will help me in opening up the options in my closet as well.  Oh, and  yes, I am as pale as Casper and will definitely need some sun this summer...

Personalized Jewelry

Anyone who knows me is aware of my love of jewelry.  My absolute favorite pieces are those that are personalized.  So I was thrilled when Onenecklace sent me the loveliest personalized necklace!  I chose this necklace with the initials of my hubby and baby boy.  The store has so many pieces to choose from that it was hard just picking one!  I've worn this necklace many times since receiving it and it holds up well so the price is well worth it!  If you are in the market for a beautiful personalized necklace for you or a friend, Onenecklace has great options at an amazing price!

More importantly!!  Onenecklace is graciously providing a 10% off coupon to all Dainty & Decadent readers with code daintyanddecadent

*I was sent this necklace by the company but the review is 100% my own honest opinion.

Cold Front

Holy moly, I have not been dressing accordingly with this cold weather!  Since when does Florida think it's okay to be anywhere below 70 degrees let alone below 30?  I am definitely not cut out for cold weather.  Don't let the thin cardigan fool you, it was cold!  I can't really say I have cold weather style since I live in the south and I also can't say that I can properly mix in volumizing powder in my hair (see picture below).  Whoops!  And yes, I must have gone the whole day with white powder sitting on top of my head.  Ugh.

Fancy Tweed

Admittedly, I have not purchased very many pieces of clothes for myself in a reeeaalllyy long time.  I could probably count on one hand the things I have bought myself since probably May of this year.  Not to continue to complain about the baby weight, but I refuse to buy new clothes until I work the weight off.  Otherwise, I know myself, and will get too comfortable.  I digress.  Cyber Monday rolls around and the influx of sales emails roll into my inbox.  I caved and perused J.Crew Factory online when I spotted this most perfect tweed skirt.   Even though I said I would not buy any new clothes until I can fit in my old ones, I just. had. to.  I don't own any tweed skirts and, ugh, it makes me feel oh so fancy!  My next goal will be to find more fancy feeling clothes.  I'm not sure what that is yet but feeling fancy is just, well, fancy.

Cooler Days

It's cold outside!  Like really cold outside and I couldn't be more happy!  I started a new running routine and set a goal to run the next 5k in my area.  I've been loving my outdoor runs in the cooler weather and fall foliage.  I think if I set a goal, I'm more likely to keep up with the routine.  I'm still not fitting in most of my pre-pregnancy clothes and, honestly, it depresses me so I like that I am now motivated to do something about it.  Speaking of working out, Dunkin Donuts stopped making pumpkin spice donuts...blasphemy.

Morning Spit Ups

How would you like some spit up on your freshly clean sweater right before you head out the door?  That's exactly what happened right after we took these photos.  I wiped it up and went on my merry way.  I know, it's gross.  It really is amazing how little I find things to be gross.  I am regularly referred to as prissy at work but after having a baby, spit up, poopy diapers, cleaning my baby's nose, getting peed on by Lucas, I am immune to what others would find gross.  HOWEVER, last week, I was told that a mouse was in our building and I FREAKED out.  One mouse in a large building is hardly anything to freak out about but I. JUST. CAN'T.  I literally disinfected my entire office, you know, I don't overact or anything.  Give me spit ups and poopy diapers any day but mice...nope.

Neon on Weekends

This weekend I downloaded the What to Expect When Expecting app on my phone so I can check daily on what size the baby should be, etc.  My app says now that my baby is the size of a head of lettuce...yeah umm...by the looks of my belly, my kid is the size of all the lettuce at the supermarket.  It's going to be a long summer!  Happy Monday :-)

Changes and Changes

Sweater: J Crew  /  Dress: Motherhood Maternity  /  Shoes: Sole Society  /  Handbag: Coach

I have to laugh when I look at this photo because I literally look like I'm smuggling a beach ball and wearing three layers under my sleeves!  Maybe taking photos after work isn't the best idea.  I recently went through my archives and got a kick out of my expanding belly.  When I started blogging, it never occurred to me that I would soon be documenting my pregnancy.  I've lately been feeling better and better the further in pregnancy I get.  My husband said to me the other day, "you're pretty proud to be pregnant, aren't you."  He wasn't asking because he knows that I am.  If you asked me a year ago when I was planning to have children, I would have said not any time soon.  Now, I can't imagine not wanting to have this child.  It's a strange thing this pregnancy is but I'm loving every minute of it.

Practical Love

My husband and I have become quite the practical gift givers.  He gave me a Clarisonic Mia and he bought himself a vacuum.  I say he bought himself the vacuum because I could never bring myself to spend as much as he did for a flipping vacuum.  Since it is our finances, you could say my gift was that I would stop stopping him from buying the vacuum.  He had his mind set on a Dyson vacuum which of course we had to order because we couldn't find the one he wanted locally.  The man literally said to me, "I can't wait for the weekend to be over because I'm that much closer to getting my vacuum."  And that people is love.

Most Used

I remember thinking, "how often will I really wear a polka dot chambray top?"  Well, apparently lots and lots of times.  My Old Navy polka dot chambray top is definitely one of my most used items.  I love when I use a piece of clothing over and over again because I feel it was worth it.  At almost, $20 or so, this shirt is not only worth it but a great price as well.

Thank you so much for all your congratulations and well wishes on yesterday's post!  My husband and I are so excited about this new journey.  Yesterday, we had an ultrasound and saw the heart beating for the first time...heart melted...

Biking Through the Gardens

One of my favorite activities to do in Callaway Gardens is to rent bikes and ride all through the gardens.  We also went to the Festival of Lights this year which is just literally a winter wonderland of lights all through the gardens.  As you can tell, my sister, Adri, and I were in fall/winter heaven.  PS: My dad is going to kill me for posting that goofy picture of him :-)

The Lodge and Gardens

For the holiday, my family and I spent most of the week at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.  It was absolutely beautiful and the weather was perfect.  Best of all, my sweet little sister, Adriana, was able to make the trip from NYC.  It's always nice getting to spend time with her.  Since she lives in NYC, she's definitely used to the cooler weather and could get away without bundling up like I did :-)
