Dresses make me so happy. They are easy and forgiving. However, there was a time that I despised dresses. Middle school Maria was NOT a fan of anything girly. I didn't hit my girly peak until the summer between the 8th grade and 9th grade. No matter what anyone said or did, I could not have cared less about what I looked like in middle school. Looking back, I wish someone could have been like "hey, why don't you brush your hair" or "maybe your dad's t-shirts aren't the best things to wear" but, honestly, it wouldn't have mattered. Dad's old t-shirts and ratty hair was my norm. I cringe at those super awkward photos that now happen to be my husband's "favorite" of me...he's evil I tell you...
I was the same way! My dad always wanted to see me in dresses but I just felt awkward in them! Nowadays, I love them because its an entire outfit with just one piece! I love the print and fit of this one, you look great!

Haha....I cringe at my middle/high school photos! This is a great look on you Maria! Love the geometric print on the dress:)!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't in my dad's old t-shirts, but I was in head to toe limited too with matching socks and scrunchies. Not sure which was worse - perhaps we'll call it a tie!

Totally agree with you- I had this super awkward phase where my hair was short and I dressed like a tomboy in middle school. I hated the color pink too and my dad would buy me clothes that were pink and soooo girly!
ReplyDeleteLove the little pop of red with this outfit!
