Swamp Fire

If you live in the South, especially where I'm from, college football is life.  Umm, my alma mater discovered Tim Tebow, enough said.  Okay, we didn't discover him... Anywho, I started pulling out my game day shirts and realized that I don't really own "cute" game day clothes.  In fact, I kind of dress like a boy...jerseys, game t-shirts...I never really get the girls that wear nice dresses, heels, and lots of jewelry to the games.  On the other hand, I am super sloppy.  Any ideas on dressing on the nicer side without wearing pencil skirts and heels?  By the way, anyone else's J Crew pencil skirts wrinkle up as badly as mine?  I literally just steamed this skirt before heading out too :-(

  1. How did I not know you were also a Florida Gator! The Gator Nation is everywhere!

I have a friend that turns old game day T-shirts into Jersey dresses, perhaps look into that option!!

  10. I love your necklace! It really pulls the whole look together, such a great piece :) To answer your question -- I have some cute tees I wear to support my hometown college team. A lot of the sports retailers carry girly tees in cute graphic prints so I sport those with jeans for a casual look.

  11. I love your necklace.. like, LOVE it. You can still be just as cute in jeans and a tee, it's all about how you wear it, not what you wear! :)

  13. I own this exact skirt, and I always get the exact same wrinkles in it. I guess it's the burden we must bare. I love the statement necklace! The colors play off the skirt perfectly.

  19. I live in Gainesville so I know all about the football love here in the south! I usually hate wearing UF colors (orange looks awful on me) - but that skirt is beautiful and definitely a great way to sport the color :)

  25. Hi Maria,
I love the color of that skirt and from my experience it's better to iron them inside out instead of steaming.
BTW, my middle sister just graduated from UF this past December and she always buys her cute football season gear from Victoria Secret online.

  26. Hi Maria,
I just found your blog through Pinterest and it is adorable! I love all of your cute outfits.

Weirdly enough I live in Gainesville & have an outfit blog myself. I've done a couple of posts on what I wear to the Gator games if you're interested in checking them out: http://outfitposts.blogspot.com/search/label/Occasion%3A Football%2FSports Event

(Little bit late considering we really only have FSU regular season left...but there's always next year!)

Keep up the great work! :)
