Polished Maxi

Lately, I've been posting more of my weekend outfits because, honestly, if I'm going to court a lot in one week, my outfits start looking all the same.   Keeping track of my outfits through this blog has really helped me see if I'm repetitive and how to reuse things already in my closet.  Before the blog, I was constantly stricken with the "I have nothing to wear" thought and that's when I would hit the stores.  Now, I see how I can use something in a different way without feeling like I already wore it.

I wear my clothes multiple times.  Period.  I wish I could show a brand new outfit every day but that just isn't my real life.  I do buy new clothes here and there but when I buy something I think in my head how many things can I wear this with.  If I can only come up with one outfit, it's not coming home with me.  That's just my two cents on my shopping philosophy.  I have many more but that's for another day :-)

Blazer: Gap  /  Dress: Kohls  /  Handbag: Louis Vuitton  /  Jewelry: Eve's Addiction, C Wonder, Target, J Crew, Vince Camuto, David Yurman  /  Shoes: Target  /  Sunglasses: Chanel

  4. Love the maxi with the blazer! I totally agree with you on the new clothes everyday thing, it's just not realistic for a normal person! Love mixing up what I have with a few new pieces thrown in here and there!

  6. That maxi is so pretty on you! I love seeing other petites wear maxis and looking very tall in them! I am with you, I can't afford to buy something brand new all the time so I'll re-wear pieces in different ways.

  10. I'm the same way, even if I'm buying something to wear for a special occasion, I still try to make sure there are other ways to wear it in the future! This outfit is so great, I love maxi dresses, and you've shown us a great way to make it more of a refined piece!

  12. I heart this post! I also agree with you! Just because we're fashion bloggers doesn't mean we have to have a different piece to showcase every day! I LOVE your maxi =) You look stunning!

  13. I love this Maria, the maxi looks so beautiful on you! And I agree, I am a girl on a budget so I HAVE to remix things. I wish I could buy something new everyday, but I just don't have the budget for it.

  16. I'm the same way, I definitely can't afford to go buy new clothes all the time, although as a blogger, it is very tempting! I think remixing and re-styling outfits can be just as fun as going shopping for new things. I love how you paired the maxi with a blazer! You look awesome!

  18. I love the way you styled this maxi...so chic! And I love your shopping philosophy. I'm the same way. I cannot afford a new outfit everyday, so I just try to rework what I've already got! Go girl!

  22. You are so right. For most of us having a new outfit everyday is just unreal. With that being said your outfit looks great. I love blazers with everything but I still don own one, weird. :)
Note to self: buy a blazer.

  23. I completely agree with what you said. Its ridiculous to think we could wear a completely new outfit every day! I shop and make sure the pieces I buy are versatile - that's what makes a truly fantastic wardrobe in my opinion. :)
Love this pretty maxi dress and how you wore it with the chic blazer!
So glad I came across your blog - it's a fashionable gem!

  30. I love the print! Beautiful maxi, and I love it with the blaze. I find it much more interesting to see how one wears a garment and making it more versatile or remixing it. So, I agree it's not real life for the average person to always buy new and never remix an item.
